While you can obtain basic charms randomly from Hokora shrines, the most game-changing effects come from unique, hidden Omamori scattered meticulously throughout the game world. This definitive guide will lead you to every single one, ensuring you have every advantage against the encroaching decay.

Understanding Omamori: Random vs. Hidden Charms

Before you begin your search, it's crucial to know the two types of Omamori:

Regular Omamori: These are acquired randomly through the "Draw Omamori" function at Hokora shrines. While some offer helpful buffs, their random nature makes them unreliable for specific strategies.
Unique (Hidden) Omamori: These are the prizes. Found in fixed, often secret locations, they provide powerful, specialized effects that can fundamentally alter your gameplay, from reducing stamina costs to enabling powerful counterattacks. These are the charms you must seek out.

All Hidden Omamori Locations (First Playthrough)

There are nine unique Omamori to discover on your initial journey. Be vigilant, as many are missable and locked to specific story moments.

1. Cat Omamori

Effect: Drastically reduces damage taken while dodging.
Location: During your first trip to the Otherworld. Find a note hinting at a charm hidden behind an Ema Plate. After collecting all other required Ema Plates in the area, interact with the remaining cat-themed plate to claim this essential defensive charm.

2. Pine Omamori

Effect: Significantly increases your maximum Health.
Location: On the way to Rinko's house, before the rice fields. Look for a corner house opposite a Hokora shrine. Enter via a ladder in the back, unlock the upstairs door, and search the drawers inside. Tip: This is your last chance to get it before it becomes inaccessible.

3. Spider Omamori

Effect: Greatly reduces durability loss from Light Attacks.
Location: The key to Sakuko's mailbox is found at the Sennensugi Shrine on the path to Rinko's house. Retrieve the key and immediately return to her house to open the mailbox. Warning: Her house becomes inaccessible after reaching Rinko's house, so do not delay.

4. Hawk Omamori

Effect: Decreases the time needed to charge your Focus meter.
Location: In the Otherworld, after obtaining the Naginata. While heading east after hearing Sakuko's voice, enter the room at the top of the path. The charm is resting on a container inside.

5. Wolf Omamori

Effect: Deal extra damage when attacking with high weapon durability.
Location: Inside Ebisugaoka Middle School. In the locked section of the locker room, find TT's locker. The combination is 377, regardless of puzzle difficulty.

6. Horse Omamori

Effect: Greatly reduces Stamina consumed when sprinting during combat.
Location: While trekking through the mountains toward Shu's house. Search thetop-right corner of the area, north of the lake and just before a locked fence.

7. Crow Omamori

Effect: Restores a small amount of Health after defeating an enemy.
Location: In the Otherworld during the trial sequences. After acquiring the FoxArm, return to the Main Hall. Use your new ability to lift a metal dooron the left to find the charm inside.

8. Suzuran Omamori

Effect: Increases the window for performing a Perfect Dodge.
Location: While descending the mountain after leaving Shu's house. Check thecorner of a house just before a path splits; the charm is tucked awaythere.

9. Hound Omamori

Effect: Regain a small amount of maximum Sanity upon defeating enemies.
Location: Found in the final Otherworld section. In the same room as the BlackSparrow Crest (in a side room before the main altar), you can find thisinvaluable sanity-preserving charm.

New Game Plus Exclusive Omamori

Starting a New Game Plus run not only lets you recollect missed charms but alsointroduces four powerful new Omamori in newly accessible areas.

1. Whale Omamori

Effect: Prevents attacks from interrupting you while using healing items.
Location: Early in the game, in the house where you pull a key from a mask. A new "back door key" will be available. Use it before jumping out thewindow, open the back door, and climb down the ladder.

2. Shrew Mole Omamori

Effect: Dodging consumes zero Stamina when you are in a Near-Death state.
Location: During the first Otherworld Ema Plate search in New Game Plus. A newsoutheastern area will be open. Look for a large, grotesque tree withbulging eyeballs; the charm is hidden nearby.

3. Rabbit Omamori

Effect: Allows you to retaliate with a Heavy Attack after a Perfect Dodge (high Stamina cost).
Location: In Ebisuga Middle School. A new room, accessible from the yard, appears next to where Shu and Rinko are held. The Omamori is inside.

4. Bull Omamori

Effect: Greatly reduces the Stamina cost of Heavy and Charged Attacks.
Location: In the Otherworld's Sakuko section. After obtaining a key here, returnto the locker room to find a previously locked door now open, with theBull Omamori inside.
