Prerequisites: Finding the Three Key Crests

Before you can even attempt the puzzle on the plaque outside Hinako's door, you must first explore the residence and gather three essential items. The crest locations are fixed and do not change with puzzle difficulty.
  • The Scales Crest: Your journey for this crest begins in Shimizu Residence II. Navigate to the upper-left section of the area to discover a partially open doorway. Inside, you will encounter a distinct puzzle. Successfully solving it will cause a previously locked drawer to open, granting you the Scales Crest.
  • The White Bird and Fox Crest: This item is the reward for completing the Ominous Photo Puzzle located within Shimizu Residence I. After manipulating the photograph to its correct state, make sure to investigate the space behind the now-adjusted large picture frame to claim your prize.
  • The Black Bird and Sword Crest: To acquire this final piece, you must gain access to a specific room in Shimizu Residence III using the Fletching Key.
