Discover how to recharge your staff in RuneScape Dragonwilds with our comprehensive guide. Boost your gameplay and master the art of recharging!
Even without a dedicated magic skill tree in its initial early access release, the Staff remains a popular and effective weapon for players who wish to embrace the role of a mage in RuneScape: Dragonwilds. This guide will cover the essential aspects of crafting, using, and keeping your Staff charged with magical energy.
RuneScape Dragonwilds: How To Recharge Staff
To replenish the magical energy of your Staff, you need to utilize the correct type of
Runes.
- Viable Runes: Only specific Runes, such as the Air Rune and the Fire Rune, can be used to recharge a Staff.
- Identifying Viable Runes: You can determine if a Rune is compatible with your Staff in two ways:
- Logo on Rune Image: Look for a small logo displayed on top of the Rune's icon in your inventory. This logo indicates if the Rune can be used for offensive magic.
- Description Check: Examine the Rune's description. Viable Runes will typically have a Damage count listed in their properties. If a Rune's description lacks a damage value, it likely cannot be used to recharge your Staff for attacks.
- Equipping Runes: If you possess multiple compatible Runes, you can switch the active Rune that your Staff draws power from by following these steps:
- Open your Inventory.
- Navigate to the Rune section.
- Press or click on the specific Rune you wish to use.
- Select the "Equip" option. Your Staff will now draw charges from this selected Rune.
How To Use A Staff In RuneScape: Dragonwilds:
Once you have a crafted and charged Staff, here's how to wield its magical power:
Equip the Staff: Go to your inventory and equip the Staff as your active weapon.Target an Enemy: Locate an enemy you wish to attack.Wait for Targeting Circle: When you are within range of an enemy, a circular target will appear on them. Waiting for this circle to fully form increases your chance of hitting the enemy with your Staff attack.Attack Button: Press your designated attack button to unleash a magical attack powered by the currently equipped Rune.Continuous Attacks: You can unleash a more powerful series of attacks by pressing the attack button continuously. However, be aware that the casting animation will prevent you from dodging during this rapid attack sequence, so choose your moments carefully.Monitor Staff Charges: Pay attention to the charge indicator displayed on the right side of your Staff in the user interface. Youwill be unable to attack if your Staff has no charges remaining. Youwill need to recharge it with compatible Runes as described earlier.Normal Attack Without Targeting Circle: While waiting for the circular targeting increases accuracy, you canstill use the Staff's normal attack even if the circle hasn't fullyformed. This can be useful for quickly dispatching weaker enemies or for tasks like aiming at floating Rune Essence rocks to knock them down.Hold Attack (Charged Attack): You can also use a hold attack by holding down the attack button. This allows you to cast a morepotent version of your Staff's attack without waiting for the lock-oncircle. The longer you hold the attack button (casting time), the longer the resulting attack will last or the more damage it will inflict. However, be mindful that:- Hold attacks consume more Runes per cast.
- You cannot move while casting a hold attack, making you vulnerable to enemy attacks.
How To Make A Staff In RuneScape: Dragonwilds:
Crafting your first Staff in RuneScape: Dragonwilds follows a similar process to making a bow. You'll first need to create a Spinning Wheel, which requires a sheltered environment (walls and a roof).
Craft a Spinning Wheel: Gather the following materials:- 4 Flax: Commonly found growing in fields or near water sources.
- 12 Ash Logs: Obtained by chopping down Ash Trees.
- 2 Stone: Found by picking up small rocks or mining larger boulders.
- Build the Spinning Wheel at a suitable crafting station (likely a basic Workbench) within a sheltered area.
Create Coarse Thread: Use the Spinning Wheel to process either Flax or Animal Fur into Coarse Thread. Using 1 Fleece (obtained by shearing sheep) is generally more efficient than using 3 Soft Animal Fur (dropped by smaller animals).Craft the Staff: Once you have Coarse Thread, you can craft the Staff using the following materials:- 12 Ash Logs
- 6 Rune Essence: Mined from Rune Essence rocks, which are often found in specific mining locations or can sometimes be obtained as drops.
- 2 Coarse Thread: Crafted at the Spinning Wheel.
- Combine these materials at a suitable crafting station (likely a basic Workbench) to create your first Staff.
With your crafted and chargedStaff, you are now ready to harness the magical energies of RuneScape:Dragonwilds and take on the challenges that await! Remember to manageyour Rune charges wisely and experiment with both normal and holdattacks to find the best strategies for different combat situations.
