These unique interactables offer up a strategic trade-off in giving up a portion of maximum health for each player in exchange for an extra life within the current stage. This not only alleviates some of the frustration that comes with dying early into the stage but provides a lifeline to fallen allies and makes the game feel a lot more collaborative and dynamic.
If a Shrine of Shaping is activated, then instantly the whole party loses 30% of their maximum health; in turn, however, it gives one extra life to all. Crucially, every time a player dies when the Shrine is active, he respawns at his previous position without having to wait for the next stage. It could be quite useful for bringing killed teammates back and saving them for further contribution in this very run, not disrupting the team momentum.
This effect from The Shrine is contained within the current stage; at the beginning of the next, players regain the health that was lost. This really synergizes with items that give additional survivability, such as Dio's Best Friend and the inherent revive ability of the Seeker Survivor.
