This mission sounds like a significant step, unlocking crucial traversal upgrades and culminating in a boss battle. Let's map out your journey to cracking the ice, acquiring the Stomp Booster and Underwater Scooter, and taking down Clawbarella:

Revenge of the Savage Planet: Find a Way to Crack the Floor

The Under the Frozen Sea mission in the Zenithian Rift is a vertical ascent and descent that will reward you with essential upgrades and a challenging boss fight. Here's a step-by-step guide to navigating this icy terrain:

Exploring Zenithian Rift & Finding a Way to Crack the Floor:

  • Navigate the Vertical Terrain: The Zenithian Rift is a more linear and vertically oriented planet. Expect a lot of double-jumping and platforming.
  • Enter the Ice Cave: From the teleporter, head straight into the ice cave, hopping over the initial volcanic platforms.
  • Optional Loot: For extra goodies, turn a full 180 degrees from the teleporter and explore the edges of the nearby lava pool for Orange Goo and crates.
  • Dead End with Cracked Ice: Inside the cave, you'll reach a dead end with cracked ice on the floor. Scan this ice to trigger the "Under the Frozen Sea" mission.
  • Backtrack and Ascend: You won't be able to break the ice yet. Backtrack out of the cave and look for an exit leading to the higher plains. Use double jumps and platforming to ascend.
  • Utilize the Lava Extractor: On your way up, use the Lava Extractor to burn away any spiderwebs obstructing your path.
  • Traverse Floating Platforms: Continue jumping across the floating platforms. Be cautious of blue ice when enemies are nearby, as fire will melt it. Use grapple points if you're unsure how to reach a platform.
  • Activate the Console: At the top of your ascent, you'll find a console. Activate it to initiate a combat encounter.
  • Defeat the Enemies: Focus on eliminating healing creatures first, followed by the flying, fire-breathing birds.
  • Reward: Stomp Key Component: Once the battle is over, you'll be rewarded with the Stomp Key Component.

    • Unlocking the Stomp Booster:

  • Return to Base: Teleport back to your base.
  • Craft the Stomp Booster: Use the following resources at the crafting station:
    • 400 Carbon
    • 300 Silicon
    • 475 Aluminum
  • Return to the Cracked Ice: Head back to the location with the cracked ice floor inside the cave.
  • Smash Through: Use your new Stomp Booster by double-jumping and holding Triangle (PlayStation) or Y (Xbox) to smash through the cracked ice and reach the deeper level below.


    • The Geysers and a Quick Detour:

  • Navigate the Path: Continue following the path in the lower level.
  • Chamber with Geysers: You'll reach a chamber with three strange geysers (Stompable Vents) and floating platforms. Do not stomp them yet.
  • Explore Plyxor's Shaft (South Exit): Before stomping the vents, head out through the south exit into an area called Plyxor's Shaft.
  • Scan Grind Rails: In Plyxor's Shaft, you'll find three weird trees with glowing white orbs around them. These are grind rails. Scan them to unlock the next mission step.
  • Return to Base: Teleport back to your base.
  • Craft the Hawx Rail Grinder: Use the following resources at the crafting station:
    • 200 Carbon
    • 200 Silicon
    • 300 Aluminum
  • Grind Up to Bioldeau's Floating Isle: Return to Plyxor's Shaft and use the grind rail to ascend to Bioldeau's Floating Isle.
  • Activate Teleporter (Left): Activate the nearby teleporter on the left for future fast travel.
  • Press Three Buttons (Right): The main path is to the right. Hop across a few platforms and take thewhite rail across to a large floating rock. Here, you need to find and press three hidden buttons to unlock a chest.
  • Collect Default Air Filter: The chest contains the Default Air Filter.
  • Return to Base and Craft: Teleport back to base and craft the Default Air Filter.
  • Capture Alpha Toxwin: Head to the Summit of Ruin (another area in Zenithian Rift) and find the Alpha Toxwin in a cave. Stagger it by hitting its weak spot, then scan and capture it.
  • Research and Craft Toxic Deshocker Mask: Let the research on Alpha Toxwin finish at your base, then craft the Toxic Deshocker Mask. This completes that side objective.


    • Boss Battle: Clawbarella:

  • Return to the Depths of Trrn: Head back to the chamber with the three geysers (Stompable Vents) in the lower level of Zenithian Rift.
  • Stomp the Vents: If you haven't already, use your stomp boost on all three vent platforms to crack them open.
  • Drop Down: Drop down the gap created by stomping the vents to reach the lowest platform. Prepare for a boss fight with Clawbarella.
  • Phase 1: Belly Weak Spots: Hit the glowing weak spots on Clawbarella's belly while avoiding her claw swipes.
  • Phase 2: Slam and Stomp: Once the belly weak spots are gone, bait her into slamming both claws down. Use your stomp boost onto her slammed claws to break them and expose more weak points.
  • Phase 3: Repeat and Dodge Fire Breath: Continue hitting the new weak points while dodging her fire breath attacks. Repeat the slam and stomp cycle on her claws if more weak points appear.
  • Defeat Clawbarella: Keep attacking the exposed weak points until Clawbarella is defeated.
  • Scan Clawbarella: Make sure to scan Clawbarella before she is fully defeated to log her in your journal.
  • Achievement: "Crushed": You'll unlock the "Crushed" achievement upon her defeat.


    • Grab the Underwater Scooter:

  • Climb Clawbarella's Back: After the fight, climb onto Clawbarella's back and proceed up to the cave above.
  • Collect the Underwater Scooter: You'll find a crate in this upper cave containing the Underwater Scooter. Collecting this item completes the "Under the Frozen Sea" mission and grants you access to new underwater areas!

    • Congratulations on braving the frozen depths, defeating Clawbarella, and acquiring theUnderwater Scooter! New underwater adventures await!
