Revenge of the Savage Planet: Beat Mecha Slappi

Phase 1: Target the Glowing Weak Spots

The initial phase of the Mecha Slappi fight is relatively straightforward, focusing on ranged attacks and dodging:

• Stay Mobile: Mecha Slappi will remain on an elevated stage, out of your melee reach. His primary offense in this phase is a barrage of lasers. Keep moving constantly to easily evade these laser shots.
• Utilize Throwable Items and Charged Shots: Your best bet for dealing damage is to use your throwable items and charged shots from your Plasma Gun.
• Focus on Pink Weak Spots: Your primary targets are the pink weak spots located on his handguns and the pink circle on his chest. Aim carefully and consistently for these vulnerable areas.
• Dodge Area-of-Effect (AOE) Lightning: Be aware of Mecha Slappi's lightning attacks. He will drop lightning AOE strikes on the ground. These are telegraphed, so keep an eye out for the visual indicators and move out of the affected areas quickly.
• Evade Machine Gun Fire: Mecha Slappi will also unleash machine gun fire. This attack is easily telegraphed by a red laser that shows where he is aiming. Strafe and dodge to avoid taking damage.

  • Green Shield: When Mecha Slappi deploys a green shield, switch to your Blight Bombs to break it.
  • Red Shield: When the shield turns red, use your Bombegranates to shatter it.
  • Blue Shield: When the blue shield appears, you'll need to use your Magnetic Fork. Throw a crystal (found around the arena edges) at Mecha Slappi while the blue shield is active to disable it.
• Resource Management: Keep an eye on the edges of the arena. You'll find refills for your throwable items and crystals that you can pick up when your supplies are running low. Prioritize dodging attacks while grabbing these essential resources.

Phase 3: The Final Frenzy

The final phase of the Mecha Slappi battle is an intense push to take him down:

• More Flying Enemies: Slappi will summon another wave of flying enemies. As in the previous phase with minions, prioritize targeting their pink weak spots to eliminate them quickly.
• No More Shields: Mecha Slappi will no longer use his color-coded shields in this final phase.
• Increased Attack Speed and Firepower: Be prepared for a significant increase in Mecha Slappi's attack speed and the sheer volume of gunfire he unleashes.
• Constant Dodging: Staying on the move and dodging constantly is crucial to survival in this phase. Don't stay in one place for too long.
• Focus on Pink: Your primary objective remains the same: target any glowing pink weak spots that appear on Mecha Slappi. Keep your aim steady while evading his relentless attacks.
• Victory: Once you successfully destroy all of Mecha Slappi's weak spots in thisfinal phase, the mechanical menace will finally be defeated!

Unlocking the Mecha Slappi Fight

To even gain access to this secret boss encounter, you'll need to complete a specific set of prerequisites:

Complete all of Slappi’s shrines scattered throughout the game's planets.

Research the Pentaforce. This likely involves collecting all the Pentaforce pieces found after completing Slappi's shrines.

Activate Slappi’s final teleporter on Quasadron IX. Once you've done this, a hidden planet called Slappi’s Den of Fun will become available, and you can travel there to initiate the Mecha Slappi boss fight.
