🕵️♂️ Locating the Ailing NPC and the Mission Start
Before you can complete the mission, you need to find the recipient of this unique therapy.Finding Kazuki and the Quest Trigger
The quest-giver is an NPC named Kazuki, who is clearly suffering from an acute back ailment.
- Location: Kazuki can be found crouching against a wall near the eastern exit/entrance of Wild Zone 10.
- Specific Detail: This particular location is often slightly obscured, sometimesappearing to be a minor underground or basement area leading into theWild Zone.
Kazuki explains his desire to find a unique form of physical relief, believing that the Fighting-type Jujitsu Pokémon, Grapploct, holds the key. Specifically, he requires a Grapploct that knows the move Octolock, a gripping maneuver he believes can "fix his back."
The challenge is that Grapploct must be obtained through evolution, and the required move, Octolock, is learned immediately upon evolution underspecific conditions. Therefore, the mission is a two-part hunt: find Clobbopus and evolve it correctly.
🎣 Part One: Finding and Catching Clobbopus
Grapploct’s base form, Clobbopus, is not freely roaming the main map of Lumiose. Instead, it is confined to the volatile and randomized Hyperspace Wild Zones.
Clobbopus's Habitat
- Enter a 1-Star Hyperspace Wild Zone: Clobbopus is known to inhabit the 1-Star level Hyperspace Wild Zones within Lumiose City. These pocket dimensionscontain a rotating roster of Pokémon, which means locating Clobbopuswill depend on the luck of the draw.
- Checking the Roster: Before entering a Zone, check the available Pokémon list. Look for the greyed-out silhouette of Clobbopus. This signifies that the Tantrum Pokémon is catchable within that specific Hyperspace pocket.
- Reroll If Necessary: Since the Pokémon populating the Hyperspace Wild Zones are randomized,you may need to "reroll" the available zones. You can do this by simplyresting or changing the time of day, which refreshes the Hyperspace Zone contents. Repeat this process until Clobbopus appears in the list.
- Catching Clobbopus: Once you locate a Hyperspace Zone containing Clobbopus, enter andsearch diligently. Many trainers report finding a small group of themrelatively close to the spawn location, but their exact placement canvary. Secure a Clobbopus and prepare for the next step.
🥋 Part Two: The Specific Evolution Condition
The challenge is not simply evolving Clobbopus, but evolving it in a way that guarantees it learns the necessary move upon transformation.
Evolving Clobbopus into Grapploct (with Octolock)
To evolve Clobbopus into a Grapploct that immediately knows the move Octolock, you must fulfill a very specific requirement: Clobbopus must know the move Taunt.
- Check Clobbopus’s Level: When caught, Clobbopus may not yet know Taunt. The move is typically learned at Level 34.
- Level Up: If your Clobbopus is below Level 34 (it is often caught around Level23), you will need to level it up. This can be done quickly using Exp. Candy from your inventory or by battling in the traditional manner.
- Learn Taunt: Once Clobbopus reaches or surpasses Level 34, it will learn the move Taunt.
- Activate Evolution: After Taunt is learned, ensure that you go into Clobbopus's moveset menu and set Taunt as one of its active battle moves.
- Evolution Trigger: As soon as Taunt is set as an active move, the evolution icon shouldappear over Clobbopus, signaling it is ready to evolve into Grapploct.
- Grapploct and Octolock: The moment Clobbopus transforms into Grapploct, the new Fighting-typePokémon will automatically gain the knowledge for its new signaturemove: Octolock.
Completing the Mission
With your newly evolved Grapploct ready and Octolock learned, head back toKazuki near the Wild Zone 10 entrance. Simply interact with him and usethe Octolock move on his back to administer the requested "therapy." The mission will be marked as complete.
