The MESA update for PEAK has introduced a host of new challenges and achievements for players to pursue, one of which is the notoriously prickly Needlepoint Badge. This unique badge tests your willingness to endure a bit of pain for a stylish reward. The challenge is simple in concept but tricky in execution, as it requires you to get up close and personal with the desert's most dangerous plant life.This guide will walk you through the precise requirements for earning the Needlepoint Badge, offer some tips for a safe completion, and reveal the exclusive cosmetic you'll receive for your efforts.

Unlocking the Needlepoint Badge: The Requirements

The Needlepoint Badge is awarded for enduring a rather painful feat: having a significant number of cacti attached to your character at one time. To successfully unlock this badge, you must follow these steps:

• Seek Out Cacti: The challenge is located within the new MESA biome, where cacti are abundant.
• Collect Cacti: You need to get at least five cacti stuck to your character simultaneously. You can achieve this by carefully running into the cacti without losing all your health.
• Manage Your Health: This is the most crucial part of the process. Each time you hit a cactus, it will attach to you and deal damage. Hitting too many too quickly will cause your health to drop to zero, failing the attempt. You must manage your health carefully throughout this process.
• Remove the Cacti: Once you have five cacti attached to you, carefully remove them one by one. You can then discard them.
• Finish the Run: The game does not grant the badge immediately upon fulfilling the requirements. You must complete your current run and survive. The game will check if you are eligible for the badge at the end of the session.

For this mission, it's highly recommended to have a friend with you in a co-op game. Your friend can help by pulling the thorns out of your character, reducing the damage you take and making the process much safer.
