What Is the Gourmand Badge in PEAK?
The Gourmand Badge is a special achievement that challenges players to find, cook, and eat four specific food items during their climb. Unlike other badges that focus on speed or survival, this one celebrates your ability to forage and feast in the wild.
Once you’ve consumed all four foods, you must reach the summit and escape via helicopter to officially unlock the badge.
Gourmand Badge Requirements: The 4 Foods You Need
To earn the badge, you must cook and eat the following items (in any order):
Each food must be properly cooked—either over a campfire or using a portable stove—before eating. Raw consumption won’t count!
Now, let’s explore where to find each item and how to prepare them.
1. How to Get Coconut Halves
Where to Find:
- Shore Biome (starting area)
- Tropics Biome (palm trees)
How to Prepare:
- Collect a whole coconut from a palm tree.
- Throw it with at least half strength to split it into two halves.
- Cook the halves over a campfire (e.g., near the crashed plane wing).
- Eat to check it off your list!
2. How to Get Honeycomb
Where to Find:
- Beehives (found in forested areas)
How to Prepare:
- Disturb the hive to trigger bees—they’ll attack on sight!
- In solo runs, move quickly or use distractions.
- In group runs, have one player lure bees away while others collect the hive.
- Break the hive to get Honeycomb, then cook and eat it.
3. How to Get Yellow Winterberries
Where to Find:
- Alpine Biome (higher elevations)
- Occasionally on Orange Winterberry trees
- More reliably found near capybaras (their spawns change daily)
How to Prepare:
- Search the Alpine region for capybaras—they often carry berries.
- Once obtained, cook the Yellow Winterberries before eating.
4. How to Get Eggs
Where to Find:
- Caldera Biome (final climbing region)
- Look for bird nests on rocky ledges
How to Prepare:
- Collect an Egg from a nest.
- Crack it open, then cook it over a fire or portable stove.
