The Castaway Outfit is a reward for earning the Participation Badge. The name of the badge itself provides a clear clue to the objective: you must have a friend escape the island without you. While this may sound simple, there are specific conditions that must be met to ensure you successfully unlock the badge.The key to earning this achievement is to be fully dead and in ghost form when your friend is rescued by the helicopter at the top of the mountain. Simply being unconscious or left behind will not be enough. The game's system checks that you are a "ghost" to fulfill the requirement.

Method 1: The Sacrifice

This is the most common and reliable method to get the badge.

Play with a Friend: This achievement requires at least one other player.

Stick Together: Follow your friend all the way to the top of the mountain, just as they are nearing the escape point.

Become a Ghost: At the very last moment, just before your friend is about to step intothe rescue helicopter, you must die. The easiest way to do this is tojump off a cliff and let your revival timer run out. Do not try to healyourself or be revived by your friend.

Watch Them Escape: Once you are fully dead and have become a ghost, your friend must geton the helicopter and be rescued. If they are rescued while you arestill in ghost form, the badge will unlock, and you will get theCastaway Outfit.

Method 2: The Abandonment

For those looking for a more immersive or, perhaps, a less-planned way toearn the badge, there is another option. You can be separated from yourfriends in a dangerous area like The Kiln (the final area of the map) and die while they make their way to theescape point. The crucial part of this method is that your friends mustescape while you are a ghost, not while you are waiting to be revived.

The most important thing to remember is that being unconscious is notenough. The game requires your character to be fully dead and in"spectator" or "ghost" mode for the badge to unlock.

Claiming Your Reward

Once the Participation Badge has been earned, a notification will appear on your screen. The Castaway Outfit will then be automatically added to your cosmetic inventory.

Head to the airport (the main hub).

Open your passport to view your cosmetics.
