Path of Exile 2 is packed with classic ARPG features, and one of the standout aspects is the abundance of loot you'll discover throughout your journey. As you embark on your journey of crafting new Instances and exploring fresh territories, you'll encounter a variety of items—some are definitely worth equipping, while others may not hold much value.

Even if an item isn't immediately valuable for equipping, it’s still worth your while to grab it. Loot serves a multitude of purposes, particularly items of blue rarity or higher, making it essential to hold onto everything until your next return to town. Discover the endless possibilities with your extra loot.

Path of Exile 2: How to use Loot

Start by identifying all new loot with a Scroll of Wisdom. After making significant progress in the main story, around the midpoint of Act 1, you can utilize The Hooded One to efficiently identify all your items in bulk. Once identified, you'll gain access to all the statistics that will help you determine whether it's truly worth your time and effort.

If it's not valuable to you, head back to town whenever you're not engaged in battle and consider doing any of the following:

Disenchant: To upgrade gear, you can dismantle blue or higher items. This process destroys the original item but yields materials that can be used to enhance other gear to the same rarity.

Salvage: Gear with a rune slot can be salvaged at a Salvage Bench. This will create an Artificer's Shard, which can be combined to form an Artificer's Orb. These orbs can be applied to magical gear to add a rune slot. Salvaging also destroys the original item.

Sell: As a last resort, you can sell unwanted gear to merchants for gold. However, it's generally advisable to avoid this, as found gear often surpasses the quality of purchased gear, and the prices of purchased gear are often inflated.

If you have a powerful piece of gear that you want to keep, you canstore it in your stash for future use or transfer it to anothercharacter. Your stash is exclusively shared with characters within thesame league, meaning you can't simply boost your Hardcore character with top-tier gear.
