When things start falling by the dozen in Path of Exile 2, that is when loot filters really become worth their weight in gold. They make looting feel and eventually become smoother and handier as screen clutter decreases while showing off most relevant ground items at the same time.
It's such a chore to manually sort and collect items on a console or controller, but thankfully, item filters work just as great on PlayStation and Xbox consoles as they do on PC. That being said, using filters on consoles is a bit of a mystery, so I've thrown together a quick tutorial that outlines the whole process.
How to Use Console Loot Filters in Path of Exile 2?
At the time of writing, you needed to link your console account to your Path of Exile account to use loot filters in the console versions of Path of Exile 2. To do this, you would go to the Path of Exile 1 website and follow these steps:
- Log in to the Path of Exile website.
- From the top left of the website, click your username where it appears in order to enter your account.
- On the right-hand side of your profile, beneath your avatar and name, click "Manage Account".
- Under "Secondary Login," find the Connect button for either Sony (PS) or Microsoft (Xbox) options.
Once you choose the Connect button for either your PlayStation or Xbox console, you can simply log in using that respective console account. By now, you've followed every step onscreen so, by this time your accounts should now be connected.
How to Find and Utilize Loot Filters
Go back to your profile page and click Item Filters on the right side of your screen; it will redirect you to your associated accounts. Now, click the Item Filter Ladder link. It opens up a new tab in your browser, containing all the best Path of Exile 2 loot filters.
Select PoE 2 from the drop-down menu that appears above the filter list, then head to the page of the filter, click on it, and press the Follow button. For a starting Path of Exile 2 player we recommend NeverSink's semi-strict or regular filters as they give a more generalized experience with simplifications.
With your official website loot filter ready to go, fire up your game, click the Options menu, click Item Filter on the very top menu for the Game tab, and in a drop-down menu, you'll see the filter you set up on the website. After you've selected it, you can save it. You can now change all the labels of things, along with their colors, and even their sound effects depending on which filter you've turned on.
