Obtaining Ryslatha's Coil:

There are three primary ways to obtain Ryslatha's Coil:
  • Random Drop:
    • Ryslatha's Coil can begin dropping from enemies level 31 and above, starting from Act 2 of the campaign.
    • While there's no way to specifically target this item, increasing your overall Item Rarity and Item Quantity will improve your chances. In the endgame, consider using Precursor Tablets with increased quantity and rarity modifiers, along with allocating Atlas skill tree points that boost these stats.
  • Orb of Chance:
    • You can use an Orb of Chance on a white (Normal) Ornate Belt that has only the implicit modifier "(10–15)% reduced Charm Charges used." This gives you a chance to transform the belt into a Ryslatha's Coil.
    • Important Note: Using an Orb of Chance carries the risk of destroying the Ornate Belt.
  • Trading with Players:
    • Trading is often the most efficient method. While a perfectly rolled Ryslatha's Coil can be expensive, moderately rolled versions are usually readily available for trade.
    • You can even use a Vaal Orb on a Ryslatha's Coil obtained through trade to gamble on improving its modifiers.

    Understanding Ryslatha's Coil's Mechanics:


    Ryslatha's Coil modifies both the minimum and maximum damage of your attacks.While it might seem that equal percentage changes to both values wouldresult in the same average damage, this is not the case. A highermaximum damage value has a greater impact on overall DPS than a higherminimum damage value.


    Example Calculation:

    Let's illustrate with an example:

    • Base Damage: 100-200 (Average: 150)
    • Ryslatha's Coil (40% modifier on both min and max): 60-280 (Average: 170)

    As you can see, even with a symmetrical modifier, the average damageincreases. A higher maximum damage roll contributes more to the overalldamage output.


    Ryslatha's Coil and Bleed Builds:

    Ryslatha's Coil is particularly valuable for bleed builds due to how bleed damage is calculated. Bleed damage is based on the highest damage roll of the attack that applied the bleed, not the average damage.

    • Impact on Bleed: If you apply a bleed with an attack that hits for 100 physical damage, andyour next attack hits for 50 physical damage, the bleed damage remainsbased on the initial 100 damage hit. However, if your next attack hitsfor 150 damage, the bleed damage will be updated to reflect the higher150 damage value.
    • Maximizing Bleed Damage: Therefore, the higher the maximum damage of your attack, the higherthe potential bleed damage you can inflict. Ryslatha's Coil, byincreasing your maximum hit damage, directly enhances your bleed damageoutput.


    Is Ryslatha's Coil Worth It?

    While Ryslatha's Coil can be a good DPS increase for many builds, other belts might offer better alternatives in some cases. However, for bleedbuilds, Ryslatha's Coil is often a crucial component due to its uniqueinteraction with bleed damage calculation. It allows for the highestpossible bleed damage application, making it a staple for manybleed-focused characters.
