The Against the Darkness Jewel can be obtained from a rare drop from Zarokh, the Temporal; he is the ultimate challenge at the end of the fourth floor of the Trial of the Sekhemas. Beating him with a Djinn Barya and with The Desperate Alliance Vase Relic equipped will give you this well-deserved reward. You have to activate the mentioned Unique Relic in order to do the Trial of the Sekhemas; without it, obtaining an Against the Darkness from Zarokh is just impossible. Desperate Alliance - Zarokh takes 75% less damage and deals 100% more damage. How to Choose the Perfect OptionTime-Lost Caches will begin to spawn upon defeating Ashar, the Sand Mother, on the third floor of the Trial of the Sekhemas. How to Unlock the Desperate Alliance Vase Relic: Step-by-Step
Desperate Alliance Unique Relic randomly drops from Zarokh, the Temporal, and can be earned on any run-even if a relic is not present. Zarokh gives an opportunity to gain six various unique relics intended to enhance the reward for completion of a Trial of the Sekhemas while ensuring the reward of a valuable unique item, such as Against the Darkness, Temporalis, and more. Though one cannot control which Relic Zarokh will drop, relics can show up more frequently in a trial by stockpiling the "#% Increased Quantity of Relics Dropped By Monsters" modifier on the relics activated with Djinn Barya.
The Desperate Alliance is a single-use Unique Relic. That means it will be consumed upon activation in a Trial.
Understanding the Mechanics of Against the Darkness in PoE 2
Unlike most Jewels in Path of Exylum 2, Against the Darkness, as a Time-Lost Jewel, does have a certain mechanic called Radius. The impact of a Jewel with Radius works on particular passive skill nodes that are present in a kind of circle surrounding the socket of the said Jewel in a passive tree.
