Before you get started with mining, there are a few basic requirements you should have. Today, we will talk about finding Chromite and all its usages.
How to find Chromite in Palworld?
To find Chromite with ease, you'll want to have a Metal Detector. This much-needed item is unlocked with Technology level 56, together with Nightstar Sand. Equipped with your trusty Metal Detector, search through the beautiful Feybreak Island map. When getting closer to Chromite, it will beep at a much faster rate on your device and turn from the soothing blue to an alert red color. As you approach, the Chromite Ore will reveal itself with a cool smoke-popping effect. Each node in Palworld gives about 80-90 Chromite.
Conversely, you can look for your newest canine friend, Smokie; he's great at sniffing out Chromite in your surroundings and will tag it for you to mine. If you upgrade Smokie, he will passively give more Chromite per node gained when mining up to 400 Chromite if it's out of the Pal Sphere to activate said passive and you mine a node.
Chromite always spawns as a dense ore with a distinctive flag poking out of it. Now, equip your pickaxe and mine the stuff. Try searching the red sections of the Feybreak Island map, as most of the Chromite nodes spawn there.

One of the best places to find Chromite is at coordinates -1200, -1100 on Feybreak Island. Once inside the cave, you will find three to four Chromite nodes ready for your excavation. For those who may have a hard time finding it, here is a map for location:.
Make sure to enter the cave from below, then use your Metal Detector and/or Smokie to reveal the Chromite ore nodes: using a high-enough level Smokie, you can easily mine more than a thousand Chromites from inside.
How to use chromite
To make Hexolite Ore, you will need the ingredient Chromite. It unlocks at Technology level 56 and requires five Chromite, 12 Hexolite Quartz, and 20 Ore. Hexolite is used in considerable amounts by different equipment, such as Hexolite Armor and other weapons. You will want to collect a large number of Chromites for your crafting project of Hexolite.
