Some players believe that the chances of catching one increase in higher level areas, such as Red Sands or Chalk Peak, but this is not confirmed.

What to do with an electric eel once you have it?

Once you have an Electric Eel, bring it back to your base and store it in an Isolation Tank.

Doing so will cause it to seek out nearby power sources and increase its efficiency.

Music - Place a radio near the Isolation Tank.
High Temperature - Place the Isolation Tank near a Smelter (Electric or Basic).
Blue Light - Place the Blue Light from the Basic Decor Tab above the Isolation Tank.
For each active mood modifier, the mood recovery rate increases.

How many Electric Eels do I need?

It is recommended to place up to four Isolation Tanks, one near each Mood Modifier.
This increases the power of each energy source in your base. The ideal amount is four Electric Eels,
but you may need less if you get better energy units or energy expansions.

Tips

Make sure you have enough space for both Isolation Tanks and Mood Modifiers.
Monitor the mood of the Electric Eels and boost their mood when needed to optimize their output.
If you don't need that much energy, you can consider sacrificing an Electric Eel to gain other valuable resources.
