How to Get the Science Journal in Modern Warfare 3 Zombies

Once the grueling task of eliminating fifty Zombies is complete, a Reward Rift will materialize in the vicinity, containing the much-sought-after Science Journal. However, players should be aware that in its raw form, the Journal is of limited utility. To unlock its full potential, significant upgrades are necessary.

For safekeeping, the Science Journal can be conveniently carried within the player's backpack or securely stored in the Acquisition Stash. This flexibility allows players to transport the item between matches, ensuring it's readily available for their next adventure.

Upgrading the Science Journal

To enhance your Science Journal, delve into the treacherous Tier 3 Zone and make your way to the western edge of Old Town, marked as F4 on your tactical map. There, you'll discover a distinctive triangular marker embedded in the ground. Position yourself on this marker and engage the three luminescent purple runes that emerge within your sightline. Should these runes be absent, another player has already initiated the process, necessitating a fresh attempt in a subsequent deployment.

Once the runes have been successfully activated, a significantly larger triangular symbol will materialize near a nearby structure. Ascend the stone edifice overlooking the staircase leading to the Pack-A-Punch and orient yourself towards the newly formed triangle. This action will commence a ritual, spawning a soul box and a circumscribed area around your character. A relentless onslaught of Zombies will materialize within this designated zone, and your survival hinges on eliminating a requisite number of these undead foes to complete the ritual. For optimal efficiency, it is advisable to maintain your position on the stone structure and remain vigilant for an on-screen prompt instructing you to "perform the summoning." Promptly pressing the interact button at this juncture is crucial, as failure to do so will result in the forfeiture of the upgraded Science Journal.

Upon successfully decimating the requisite number of Zombies, the circumscribed area will dissipate, signaling the commencement of the next phase. A menacing pack of Hellhounds will emerge, culminating in a confrontation with the formidable Byamawl Hellhound boss. Triumph over this formidable adversary will trigger the appearance of a Reward Rift, within which the coveted Golden Science Journal resides. The choice is yours: wield the enhanced journal immediately to bolster your arsenal or extract and preserve it for future endeavors.

To access the Dark Aether Rift Portal (E4) situated near the Unstable Rift during the Union Story Mission, players must employ the Science Journal in conjunction with three other specific items. This portal, crucial for progressing through the mission, is activated by a precise arrangement of artifacts on dedicated Rift Pedestals. The required items consist of a gold variant of the Science Journal, a Giraffe Toy, a Laptop adorned with stickers, and an Imaginary Friend Drawing. Each of these objects must be correctly positioned on its designated pedestal to successfully initiate the portal's formation and subsequent activation.
