Section 1: Reset the Mac Address


The Mac address is a unique identifier assigned to every network interface. Resetting the Mac address on Xbox and PlayStation consoles can fix some split screen issues. To reset the Mac address on an Xbox console, follow these steps:
  • 1. Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide.
  • 2. Go to Settings > All Settings > Network > Network settings.
  • 3. Select Advanced settings > Alternate MAC address > Clear > Restart.

To reset the Mac address on a PlayStation console, follow these steps:
  • 1. Go to Settings > Network > Set Up Internet Connection.
  • 2. Select Use Wi-Fi or Use a LAN Cable, depending on your connection method.
  • 3. Select Custom > Automatic > Do Not Specify > Manual.
