Minecraft is one of the most popular video games in the world. It’s a game that allows you to build, explore, and create your own world. However, there are times when you may encounter issues, such as “failed to connect to the server”. This can be a frustrating issue, especially if you are trying to play with friends. Thankfully, there are a number of different solutions to this problem. In this article, we’ll explore some of the most effective ways to fix “failed to connect to the server” in Minecraft.

 Fix 1: Quit and Reopen Minecraft


The first solution to try is to simply quit and reopen Minecraft. This is a quick and easy fix that often resolves the issue.
  • 1. Quit the game/server: If you are currently in a game or on a server, exit out of it.
  • 2. Close the Minecraft launcher: You can use the task manager for this. Make sure that all instances of the launcher are closed.
  • 3. Reopen the launcher: Once the launcher has been closed, reopen it.
  • 4. Join the game/server: Finally, join the game or server that you were trying to connect to. This should resolve the issue.

Fix 2: Log in to an Alternate Minecraft Account



Another solution is to log in to an alternate Minecraft account. This is especially useful if you have multiple accounts or if you are playing on a shared computer.

  • 1. Open the Minecraft launcher: Launch the Minecraft launcher as you normally would.
  • 2. Click on the dropdown box of your account: In the upper right-hand corner of the launcher, click on the dropdown box of your account.
  • 3. Select “Log out” from the dropdown menu: Once you’ve clicked on the dropdown box, select “Log out” from the dropdown menu.
  • 4. Click on “Add account”: After logging out, click on “Add account”.
  • 5. Log in to your alternate Minecraft account using Microsoft/Mojang: Finally, log in to your alternate Minecraft account using Microsoft/Mojang. This should allow you to connect to the server without any issues.

 Fix 3: Log in Using the Minecraft/Mojang License


If you are having trouble connecting to a server that requires a license, you can try logging in using the Minecraft/Mojang license.

  • 1. Log in using the Minecraft/Mojang license in the “Accounts” menu item: Open the Minecraft launcher and navigate to the “Accounts” menu item. Log in using your Minecraft/Mojang license.
  • 2. Join a server that allows cracked versions/does not check for licenses: Once you’ve logged in, try joining a server that allows cracked versions or does not check for licenses. This should allow you to connect to the server without any issues.

Fix 4: Set “Online-Mode” to “False”


If none of the above solutions work, you can try setting “Online-Mode” to “False”.

  • 1. Access the main folder of your Minecraft server: Open the main folder of your Minecraft server.
  • 2. Open the server.properties file > Online-Mode > set to “False”: Once you’ve opened the server.properties file, locate the “Online-Mode” setting and set it to “False”.
  • 3. Save the file and restart your server: Finally, save the file and restart your server. This should allow you to connect to the server without any issues.

There are a number of different ways to fix “failed to connect to the server” in Minecraft. If you are experiencing this issue, try quitting and reopening Minecraft, logging in to an alternate Minecraft account, logging in using the Minecraft/Mojang license, or setting “Online-Mode” to “False”. With these solutions, you should be able to connect to the server and enjoy the game with your friends.
