How to defeat Undead Grius
Party Composition:
Healer (Hero): A must-have in your party because he/she will have:
- AOE Heal: To alleviate some of the damage dealt by the Phantom Dance of Undead Grius.
- Hama (Almighty-type spell): Makes use of Undead Grius' weakness and thus deals a great amount of damage (250-300 HP).
Knight (Hulkenberg):
- Knight's Proclamation: Grabs aggro, protecting the Healer from melee.
- Diagonal Slash: Deals good physical damage.
Warrior (Strohl):
- Diagonal Slash: Deals good physical damage.
- Hulkenberg Synthesis Attack (Jump Thrust): Critical, high-damage attack; can go as high as around 450 HP or so.
Attack Patterns:
- Phantom Dance: High-Damage AOE, 50-70 HP
- Mocking Phantasm: ST attack; weak against Hulkenberg
Recommended Strategy:
- 1. Sustain First: After every Phantom Dance, the healer should make sure the party is topped.
- 2. Abuse the Weakness: Spam Hama on Undead Grius to deal massive damage.
- 3. Tank Management: Using Knight's Proclamation on Hulkenberg will make him the center of Undead Grius' melee attacks.
- 4. Physical Damage: Diagonal Slash by Healer and Warrior for constant, periodic physical damage.
- 5. Synthesis Attack Opportunity: If possible, use Jump Thrust Synthesis Attack with Hulkenberg and Strohl where critical hit potential is very high.
- 6. Survival Focus: Never push too hard; the focus is always on party survival.
Health of Undead Grius:
- Use Hama and physical to whittle his health down gradually.
- Below 50% health, he can use Mocking Phantasm. This should be less of a problem against Hulkenberg.
