How to fix Helldivers 2 crashing due on extraction errors



Fortunately, there is a solution and for this we must:

  •   Delete the Helldivers 2 shader cache in C:/Users/[username]/AppData/Roaming/Arrowhead/Helldivers2/shader_cache
  • Proceed to delete the Steam shader cache (Helldivers 2) in C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/shadercache/553850
  • If the above steps do not work, we will have to try to remove Helldivers 2 from the Arrowhead folder on our PC and run the Steam verification check. It is important to note that this will reset all our settings.

Other alternative options are:


  • Run the game in DX11 by opening the Helldivers 2 "Properties" menu on Steam.
  • We will navigate to the bottom of the "General" tab
  • We proceed to add the line "--use-d3d11" (without quotes) to the "Start" menu. "Options" box.
  • Next, we'll turn off crossplay.
  • Next, we reestablish our Internet connection or router.

On the PS5 unfortunately, it is not possible to edit console game files, there is currently no way to fix the "failed to extract" error in Helldivers 2 on PS5.
