Helldivers 2 has introduced a new level of customization with Warbonds, allowing players to personalize their Mech, Hellpod, and even Pelican-1 with unique patterns. Of course, this is actually a somewhat new feature, so presently, their selection of patterns is limited. That being said, Arrowhead Game Studios has shown a commitment to pushing out more customization options, as was shown by the introduction of new patterns in the Freedom's Flame Warbond. With more on the way, the promise is there for some really distinctive loadouts. Let's take a look at how to unlock and equip these patterns to make your Helldiver a unique snowflake.

How to change Mech and Hellpod patterns in Helldivers 2?

Customization options for the Exosuit and Hellpod are possible in Helldivers 2. To do so, one must first earn patterns. These are purely cosmetics gained with the Warbond system, itself bound to mission completion. As of now, these patterns can be obtained from Freedom's Flame and Viper Commandos Warbonds. The only vehicle patterns that exist are Undergrowth and Safety Orange.

Want more patterns? Well, one has to diligently complete missions to earn medals in return and then spend them to buy the desired pattern in the Warbond menu. When a player has collected enough patterns, he can enter the ship management menu near the respawn point of the ship. Under that will be a "Vehicle Customization" section. Here, they can select their favourite ride and look through the available patterns and skins on the right of the screen. Since any cosmetic changes to a vehicle will carry over between missions, players can go ahead and express themselves.

Worth noting is the fact that at the moment, there are relatively few patterns available. The developers of Helldivers 2, however, have announced their intention to increase the number of customization options through future updates. Players can soon expect a more significant number of patterns and possibly even new customization elements.
