How to Breed Animals in Fields of Mistria?

You will want one mature male and one mature female of the exact same species for breeding an animal in Fields of Mistria. Build the herd, first with simple color variations Hayden has available in his shop. These will be the animals by which you start raising your herd. As these grow up and procreate, you have an interesting set of coat patterns and colors. Match them to see many beautiful and unusual offspring. Breeding is not only a means of expanding your livestock but also a rewarding way to explore the diverse genetic possibilities within each species.

The wide range of breeds within the Fields of Mistria is entirely categorized in tiers, each level differentiated by its color selection. Tier 1 shall introduce the starting stage, offering the initial three colors available for each breed that can be acquired from the retailer Hayden. Based on that very foundation, Tier 2 expands the color palette, using the tapestry of colors of nature as an inspiration.

The color palette becomes more specialized further up. Tier 3 has three unique colors : Plue, Pink, and Purple. Anyone wanting a bit of class in their creatures can turn to Tier 4 with its silver variation of color or Tier 5 with its gold. Lastly, Tier 6 takes the changing of the seasons to heart, giving animal variations decorated with colors reminiscent of spring, summer, autumn, and winter.

This also depends on the habitat. That is to say, an animal in a coop will only take three days whereas the larger ones in a barn will take five days to mature.

To breed animals, tap on two adults that can be bred together. Make sure their Coop or Barn has enough space to fit more animals. Next, go to Hayden's and get Heart Shaped Treats for every kind of animal. Give one treat to each chosen animal on the same day for better results. Successful mating is indicated by a stork icon which will appear next to both animals in the Animal section of the main menu. This icon indicates a four-day gestation period. Once that is over, a newborn will be born and added to your farm family.

Breeding Higher Tier Animals in Fields of Mistria

The process for breeding higher tier variants of animals in Fields of Mistria includes breeding their lower-tier counterparts. For example, breeding two tier 1 animals could give the player a tier 2 animal. In some not-so-common cases, this result could jump directly to a tier 3 variant.

Tier combinations also give higher tiers. That is, usually, a Tier 1 combined with a Tier 2 will give a Tier 3 offspring. However, when the gap between tiers is increased, such as Tier 1 with Tier 3, there may be a possibility of Tier 2.

Breed like-tiers constantly for the highest possibility of attaining higher tier progeny. The new color variation of animals is then available, at a premium over the ones given at the beginning, in Hayden's shop once they are cultivated successfully.

While higher-tier parents do generally give way to higher quality offspring, a tier 6 seasonal variant is relatively low in chances regardless of parental lineage.

An important element in determining the possible seasonal form of an offspring is the time of year conception occurs. In other words, the time of year the parents are bred, not the birth date, will determine which seasonal variant is possible. For example, a mating pair being fed on Heart Shaped Treats during summer will have a chance of producing a summer variant calf, even though the calf may be born the following autumn.
