In this guide entry we explain How To Cancel Charged Up Passes & Shots in Harry Potter Quidditch Champions.

First of all, Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions looks like a very casual game, while in fact, it has quite strategic and exciting gameplay. It has deep mechanics that enable players to find special skill combinations, which is a nice challenge for both casual and dedicated gamers.

Because all of the teams are composed of three Chasers, and these players can easily switch between them, mastering the Chaser role will be pivotal for achieving success. The Chasers have the main mission to score goals; besides, their proficiency in passing, shooting, and dodging opponents makes them a potentially influential player in deciding the results of a match.

But while the game does have a dedicated tutorial for Chasers and other positions, there isn't a whole lot of coverage regarding how gameplay properly works. For example, the tutorial will teach you how to pass and shoot-including charged shots-but not how to cancel these actions in any way. This can drive some players into frustrated corners because every so often, they execute something that they didn't really want to do.

Overall, Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions is a game that was crafted well enough and unique somehow. Due to the strategic gameplay, nice visuals, and also with the presence of the iconic characters of Harry Potter, it is no doubt the most crucial title to play for any series enthusiast or sports games.

How To Cancel Charged Up Passes & Shots in Harry Potter Quidditch Champions?

Charged Shots and Passes

Charged shots and passes are done by holding the Right Trigger by default or A/Cross as an alternative. For players using KBM, the Right Mouse button is used. The more charged the Quaffle is, the faster it'll go and the more precise you can aim.

Canceling Shots and Passes

If your target isn't open anymore (e.g. your teammate gets hit by a Bludger, you've overshot the hoop, or the Keeper has gotten back), you can cancel your shot/pass. To do so, you can use the Evade skill (Left Bumper or B/Circle Space for KBM). You will immediately release the shoot/pass action and be allowed to keep flying.

Optimal Cancel Combo

It's not just a last-second tweak; the cancel combo can be used strategically. You can, for instance,

  • Fake out the Keeper: Charge up a shot to the goal, then dodge away and fire at another hoop.
  • Escape Tacklers: Be chased, charge a pass to your teammate, then dodge off to simply avoid the tackle and retain possession.
  • Create Scoring Chances: Charge a shot, then dodge to open space for an accurate shot.
  • Setting Up Teammates: Charge a pass, then dodge to take the defenders away from the teammate who will receive the pass and create an open shot.
  • Counter Strategies of the Defense: If your opponent's team thinks a certain move is going to be made, use the cancel combination to catch them off guard to create an advantage in the game.

Keep in mind that Evade is on cooldown, so use it judiciously. Test out your combos with cancel to find some really creative ways of outmaneuvering opponents in Quidditch Champions.
