Grounded 2: Pinch Whacker and Northern Shredders

How to Find the Pinch Whacker

The Pinch Whacker is a returning favorite from the first Grounded game. This unique Tier 3, one-handed tool deals Generic damage and, on its third hit, unleashes an electrical explosion that stuns and damages nearby enemies.

• Location: The Pinch Whacker is located inside an O.R.C. Cave, which is found north of the Fire Pit. Look for a bright purple cola can as a landmark. The cave entrance is nearby, identifiable by a purple mark on a rock to the right of the can.
• Accessing the Cave: The cave itself is blocked by a brittle wall that can only be destroyed with an explosive. Before you go, be sure to craft a Bratburst or another type of bomb. You can get the Bratburst recipe by scanning a Spicy Shard at a Resource Analyzer.
• The Loot: Once you've used the bomb to clear the entrance, head inside the cave. At the back, behind a spicy candy box, you'll find a room with three valuable items: a chest filled with resources, a Milk Molar in the corner, and the Pinch Whacker itself on a chair. It's important to note that the Pinch Whacker is a unique weapon, and only one exists in the game.

How to Find the Northern Shredders

The Northern Shredders are a new, upgraded fist weapon that are anevolution of the Mitey Claws. This Tier 2, two-handed weapon dealsSlashing damage and, most notably, introduces the use of venom early inthe game.

• Location: To find the Northern Shredders' recipe, you'll need to venture to the Brookhollow Park area and locate a specific O.R.C. Cave. The cave entrance is under the wooden platform of the Snackbar Front Area, and it is blocked by roots.
• Accessing the Cave: You will be guided to this cave as part of a story quest to protectyour base. To get past the roots blocking the entrance, you will need aBuggy, specifically a Red Ant Soldier Buggy.
• The Recipe: Inside the cave, you will need to defeat a formidable O.R.C. NorthernScorpion. The recipe for the Northern Shredders, called the Cryptic Note, is a small white piece of paper located on the floor to the right ofthe Stolen Optical Disk, which is also a story-critical item.
• Crafting the Northern Shredders: Once you have the recipe, you can craft the Northern Shredders at a Workbench using the following materials:
  • 4 Northern Scorpion Chunk
  • 2 Scorpion Venom
  • 3 Spine Nub
  • 2 Silk Rope
