It was then that for Disney's convenience, it was decided that the IP itself and even the original characters were owned by Disney, thus giving the doder to the company to prevent carrying out any kind of novel decision that, somehow, would disagree with your interests. However, Disney has allowed Nomura to unfold freely, without using its authority. The changes in the situation, fortunately, occurred in the wake of Kingdom Hearts II.
Square Enix managed to work more directly with the properties using Disney's support in its favor after the success of the franchise, obviously obtained from the first installment. What brought as immediate result this feat enlarged appearance of Mickey Mouse, who in fact he adapted a custom-made wardrobe for the universe so that it was aceted as another character of Kingdom Hearts.
It is rumored that the project of the second installment of Kingdom Hearts was not started at high levels until Square Enix had the authorization to give Mickey Mouse a greater meaning than in the previous episode.
