Apex Legends: Early-quit penalties are coming - Ultimate Guide

Respawn has already confirmed that the penalties for early abandonment are coming to Apex Legends. The latest update of Apex Legends has introduced several changes, some players noted that they would get a cooldown of five minutes for every three games they leave midway through the game. But this is mentioned by nowhere on the patch of the last update.

The launch date of this tool has not yet been defined.

"So internally, we've been working and testing this function, but it was not our intention or our plan to get it going with the update that came out today."

There was a piece of the script missing and it caused the early starting penalty to be triggered when it should not. That's why it was not in the patch notes.

"We updated the script, we tested it with QA and it's now disabled for all platforms, we do not have an ETA for it or when it would really come in. Apologies for the confusion."
