Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 has introduced a new type of chest called the Holo Chest. These chests are scattered all around the map, but only a few can be unlocked each game. In this article, we will cover how to find and unlock Holo Chests in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2.

Holo Chests are a type of chest that can only be found in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2. They appear as a holographic chest with a blue and purple color scheme. Inside each chest is guaranteed to be at least one weapon of Epic or Legendary rarity.

Holo Chests can be unlocked in a variety of ways. They can be unlocked by using a key, spawning as ground loot, being found inside other chests, purchasing from the CRZ-8 NPC, or by looting defeated enemies.

Holo Chests can typically be found in one of three locations. They can be found outside of the main points of interest (POIs) on the map, along the sides of buildings at almost every landmark, and at the front entrances of all gas stations on the map. 

  • Outside of Main POIs: Holo Chests can be found outside of the main POIs on the map. These locations include: Pleasant Park, Salty Springs, Dirty Docks, Sweaty Sands, and The Authority. 
  • Side of Buildings at Almost Every Landmark: Holo Chests can also be found along the sides of buildings at almost every point of interest on the map. This includes buildings at Retail Row, Slurpy Swamp, Lazy Lake, Misty Meadows, and Weeping Woods. 
  • Front Entrances of All Gas Stations: Holo Chests can be found at the front entrances of all  gas stations on the map. These gas stations can be found in Retail Row, Pleasant Park, Salty Springs, Sweaty Sands, and Dirty Docks. 
  • Weapon Offerings Differ at Every Location: The weapons offered by Holo Chests differ from location to location. Usually, it is possible to find shotguns, rifles, SMGs, and pistols in each chest, but this can vary depending on the location. 
  • All Guns Guaranteed to be Epic or Legendary Rarity: All guns that are found in Holo Chests are guaranteed to be of Epic or Legendary rarity. This means that it is always possible to find high-tier weapons inside these chests. 


How to Unlock Holo Chests

Holo Chests can be unlocked in a variety of ways. The easiest way to unlock them is by using a key. Keys can be found as ground loot or inside other chests. 

  • Spawn as Ground Loot or Inside Other Chests: Holo Chest Keys can spawn as ground loot or inside other chests. It is possible to find them in almost any location on the map, but they are more commonly found near POIs or in high-traffic areas. 
  • Purchase from CRZ-8 NPC: Holo Chest Keys can also be purchased from the CRZ-8 NPC. This NPC can be found on the map and will sell different types of keys for a variety of prices. 
  • Loot Defeated Enemies: Holo Chest Keys can also be found by looting defeated enemies. This is the least reliable way to obtain keys, as defeated enemies will not always drop them.
