The starting point for the new Ohio questline is the mission titled "Welcoming Committee." For most established players, this quest should automatically appear in your log upon launching the game after the expansion’s installation.

If the Quest Doesn't Appear Immediately:

If you don't see "Welcoming Committee" in your Pip-Boy, don't panic. Thegame may require you to reach a certain level threshold before the quest is pushed to your character. Continue engaging with existing content,level up a few times, and the emergency broadcast should soon interruptyour radio silence.

Tuning into the Distress Signal

The quest begins by directing you to investigate an unusual broadcast.

• Access the Pip-Boy: Open your trusty Pip-Boy device.
• Tune the Radio: Navigate to the radio station menu and select the Ohio Distress Broadcast.
• Hear the Plea: You will hear a transmission from a woman who sounds like she is inconsiderable danger, providing a cryptic starting point for yourinvestigation.

Once the communication fades, your map will update with the location of the broadcast's source.

Phase 2: Finding the Gateway to Ohio

The distress signal leads you to a familiar, yet now more significant, location: Point Pleasant. This riverside town is already known to veteran players as a source for gathering rare Mothman Eggs and is situated to the east of Vault 76.

Crossing the Border

Unlike previous expansions that sent players via a long-distance transport,the new region is physically connected to the existing Appalachian map.

• Locate the Bridge: Travel to Point Pleasant.
• Make the Crossing: You will find a bridge crossing the water at this location. Crossingthis bridge marks your seamless transition from the core Appalachia mapinto the remnants of the Ohio Wasteland.

The Early Warning

While the initial quest is recommended, it is worth noting that technically,you can cross the bridge and explore the new territory without havingthe "Welcoming Committee" quest active. However, it is strongly advisedthat you ensure your character is properly leveled and equipped beforeventuring deep into the new zone, as the challenges here are formidable.

Phase 3: The Raider Trap and the First Choice

Following the road on the Ohio side will lead you directly into the heart of theinitial conflict, which is controlled by a hostile group of raiders.

The Fortified Checkpoint

• Encounter: You will encounter a heavily fortified checkpoint manned by aggressive raiders. You must clear out all hostile forces to secure the area and proceed safely.
• Locating the Source: After eliminating the threat, search for a nearby tower. The woman from the radio broadcast is located inside this structure.

The Capture

Upon making contact with Ava, the woman from the distress call, the plot thickens rapidly. You willquickly discover that the emergency call was a ruse: you are tricked and immediately thrown into a jail cell by the raiders.

Inside the cell, you will meet two fellow prisoners: Eugene and Silas.

• Speak with Eugene: Talk to Eugene first to get a full debriefing on the dire situation and understand who controls this area.
• Speak with Silas: Next, speak with Silas in the adjacent cell.

Once these conversations are complete, the guards will surprisingly open the cell doors, releasing all three of you to face their leader.

The Rust King's Demand

You will be brought before the Rust King, a formidable Super Mutant who commands the local raider faction known as the Rust Kingdom. He agrees to spare your life, but only under one chilling condition: you must eliminate Silas.

Phase 4: The Inevitable Conclusion – Choosing Sides

This is the first major moral crossroad of the Burning Springs questline, forcing you to choose a side between the two fellow prisoners.

Side with Eugene	Silas immediately becomes hostile and attacks you. You must defeat him. The encounter ends quickly with minimal risk.	Recommended: This path conserves ammunition and resources, making it the most practical choice for immediate progression.
