She consumes "Miquella's Needle" in the fight against Dragonlord Placidusax in "Crumbling Farum Azula", which will allow you to reverse "Frenzy Flame", so you don't get caught in the "Lord of Frenzy Flame" ending.
It is necessary that when you find the "Flame of Frenzy" from "Three Fingers", you get Miquella's Needle, or you will be stuck in one of the 6 endings of the game. Once you have Miquella's Spire, Frenzy Flame is permanently removed. This is the only way to save Melina because she will leave you at this point.
