Dynasty Warriors Origins features a nice character bonding system that allows the original protagonist Ziluan to form great friendships with a number of quirky characters featured within the game. The Yellow Turban leader Zhang Jiao makes the list, but compared to other characters in Dynasty Warriors Origins, players will have to go through a different approach in order to befriend him.

How to Bond With Zhang Jiao in Dynasty Warriors Origins?
In Chapter 2, the bonding system is officially introduced when Sima Hui extends an invitation to the Shui Jing Retreat. However, when you review the bondable character list, you'll find that it includes Zhang Jiao, who has already died and is marked in gray with the initial "Acquaintance" level.
Increasing the bond level for Zhang Jiao is only possible in the post-game mode of Dynasty Warriors Origins. Note that this following guide will contain spoilers related to post-game content.
Beat the game and watch the credits to unlock the post-game mode of Dynasty Warriors Origins, where you'll be able to replay story restart points to go back to the beginning of any chapter. Bonding time with Zhang Jiao-you can start replaying the story from the Prologue or Chapter 1.
Progress through the early stages of the game up until you've finished the first two Skirmish stages. Opening the gate between the You and Ji Provinces, for a character to appear that didn't appear the first time, bet! Zhang Jiao shows up, and it also nets a really nice Introductory bond event with him.
Once the initial event is complete, Zhang Jiao will present you with a series of training missions. Like the other characters, completing two of the three missions will increase your relationship by one level further.
You can replay the sequence in Chapter 1 a maximum of two times, but you will soon realize that Zhang Jiao isn't there once you get to Bond Level 4. If you want to unlock his final bond event and level, you need to be in a much more advanced timeline. Moved the storyline to a branch at the endgame Chapter 5, and, well, Zhang Jiao somehow popped out in a mountain village near the city of Ye. You simply need to defeat him there; his bond level should be fully realized by then.
