In Donkey Kong Bananaza, as you collect more bananas, you'll earn skill points to unlock new abilities for Donkey Kong, enhancing his combat prowess, traversal, and collectible gathering. While initially, your skill options are limited, more powerful skills become available as you progress. This often means that early skill choices might become less relevant. This is where the ability to respec skill points proves incredibly useful, allowing you to reallocate your points to suit your current playstyle or tackle new challenges. However, the option to respec isn't found directly within the skill points menu.

How to Respec Skill Points in Donkey Kong Bananaza

To respec your skill points in Donkey Kong Bananaza, you need to seek out and interact with one of the game's Elders.Locating the Elders:

The first Elder you'll encounter is the Kong Elder, located in Lagoon Layer's 101 sub-layer. You'll interact with him as part of the main storyline, so it's unlikely you'll miss him during your initial progression.
After you've placed the ancient record and completed the Bananaza tutorial, you'll be free to move to the next area. However, before proceeding, speak to the Kong Elder again.
Upon re-engaging with him, you will now see the 'Reset Skills' option available for selection.
Choose this option, and then confirm your decision by selecting 'Reset my skills!' again. This action will refund all your spent skill points, allowing you to re-spend them as you see fit on any unlocked skills.

Important Considerations for Respeccing:

Excess Juice Converts to Gold: Any extra juice (Apple Juice, Melon Juice, etc.) you are holding beyond your initial base limits will be converted into gold when you respec. Keep this in mind, especially if you have a significant surplus of consumables.
Elder Availability: Not every layer in Donkey Kong Bananaza features an Elder. If you feel the need to respec your skills, it's advisable to do so when you encounter one, rather than waiting in hopes of finding another one soon after.
No Negative Consequences: There is no cost or penalty for respeccing your skills in Donkey Kong Bananaza. This encourages players to experiment regularly with different skill loadouts to find the perfect one for their current playstyle or for specific challenges.
Fast Travel for Convenience: If you find yourself in a situation where you desperately need to respec but are far from an Elder, you can always utilize the fast travel system (with the help of the mother eel and warp gong) to quickly return to a layer where an Elder is present.

As you progress through Donkey Kong Bananaza, you will encounter five different Elders, each representing a different animal and found in a unique 'layer' of the world. Knowing their locations can be helpful for quick respecs.
