  • Approach the item until the golden sparkles and the "Interact" prompt appear.
  • Press the corresponding button (which varies by platform) to clear it away.


    • You won't add the gear to your inventory. Instead, clearing it will always reward you with a yellow Memory Shard. This shard is your key objective.

    The Purpose of Hockey Gear: Farming Memory Shards


    The sole reason for hunting down Hockey Gear is to collect these yellowMemory Shards. Each shard you open has a chance to contain either:


    • A fragment of a special Inside Out memory featuring Joy, Sadness, Anger, Disgust, and Fear.
    • A small amount of Star Coins.
