Alice has found herself in a bit of a predicament in Disney Dreamlight Valley—she’s been shrunk to a tiny size! To help her return to normal, you’ll need to gather the ingredients for the Contrary Perfume, a magical concoction that can reverse her condition. However, these ingredients aren’t just lying around—they’re hidden in peculiar locations across the Alice in Wonderland Realm, each requiring a unique task to obtain.
In this guide, we’ll walk you through every step needed to collect all four ingredients and craft the Contrary Perfume.

Contrary Perfume Ingredients & Locations


There are four key ingredients you must gather:
  • Jar of Heart Candies – Found by fishing in a pond.
  • Bags of Discontented Seeds – Obtained from the singing flowers.
  • Blue Mushroom – Hidden inside a sad blue mushroom.
  • Wonderland Plaque – Held by a Pencil Bird perched on books.
    • Let’s break down how to get each one.

    1. Fishing for the Jar of Heart Candies


    Location: Pond near the entrance of the Alice in Wonderland Realm
    • Head to the entrance of the Wonderland Realm (where you first arrived).
    • Look for a golden fishing spot in the pond near the waterfall.
    • Equip your Royal Fishing Rod and cast your line to reel in the Jar of Heart Candies.

    What’s Next?
    After obtaining the Jar of Heart Candies, talk to the Cheshire Cat (who appears near his tree). He’ll direct you to the singing flowers for the next ingredient.

    2. Obtaining the Bags of Discontented Seeds from the Singing Flowers


    Location: Middle region of the Wonderland Realm
    • From the entrance, walk straight through two forest sections.
    • In the second forest area, look to the left side to find four singing flowers.
    • The tall orange flower (the Matriarch) holds the Bags of Discontented Seeds.

    How to Get the Seeds:
    • The Matriarch will only give you the seeds if you help the flowers sing again.
    • Equip your Royal Watering Can and water the three smaller flowers around her.
    • Once watered, the Bags of Discontented Seeds will appear on the ground.

    3. Finding the Blue Mushroom Inside a Sad Mushroom


    Location: Near the entrance, close to the crafting station
    • As you enter the Wonderland Realm, take the first path leading into the woods.
    • On the left side, you’ll spot a large, sad blue mushroom.


    How to Get the Blue Mushroom:


    • The mushroom is feeling down, so you must wear something blue to cheer it up.
    • Open your Wardrobe and filter by blue-colored clothing.
    • Equip any blue outfit, then exit the menu.
    • The mushroom will perk up and drop the Blue Mushroom for you.

    4. Getting the Wonderland Plaque from the Pencil Bird


    Location: On a stack of books near the entrance


    • From the Blue Mushroom’s location, head slightly down the path.
    • Look to the right to find a Pencil Bird perched on a tall stack of books.


    How to Get the Plaque:


    • The Pencil Bird will quiz you with six questions.
    • Answer all correctly to receive the Wonderland Plaque.
    • If you get even one wrong, you’ll have to restart the quiz.

    Crafting the Contrary Perfume


    Now that you have all four ingredients, it’s time to make the Contrary Perfume.


    • Return to the crafting table near the entrance (next to the cooking station and the blue mushroom).
    • Interact with it and go to the Potion & Enchantment tab.
    • Select the Contrary Perfume recipe and choose "Craft."


    Once crafted, you can proceed with the Teeny, Tiny Problems quest and help Alice return to her normal size!

    Final Tips


    • Save before talking to the Pencil Bird—if you fail the quiz, you can reload instead of restarting.
    • If you’re missing blue clothing, check your inventory or Scrooge’s store for options.
    • Some ingredients (like the fishing spot) may take a few tries, so be patient!
