This time we return with a guide aiming to explain to you about Spiritborn Centipede Leveling Build in Diablo 4.
The Centipede build path is perfect for you if you enjoy spreading poison and doing massive bonk damage to every enemy on the screen. It's one of several entertaining Spiritborn playstyles to explore in Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred.
The Centipede path may be a bit sluggish when compared to the Jaguar and Eagle builds, but it's also one of the most user-friendly Spiritborn configurations. With its combination of damage over time, burst damage, and automated execution effects, it can quickly sweep the screen of foes. It's a powerful playstyle for acquiring higher Difficulty tiers in Diablo 4, and you can modify it to your liking for an easier endgame transition.
Diablo 4: Spiritborn Centipede Leveling Build
Centipede abilities combine healing and damage-over-time effects with burst damage and Vulnerable application for a well-rounded package. There is virtually no downtime on The Devourer and Scourge when you use this build to transform your Spiritborn into a walking biohazard zone.
Withering Fist
- Enhanced: Poisoning enemies with Withering Fist now heals you faster.
- Sharp: Withering Fist now spreads poison and vulnerability to nearby enemies.
Stinger
- Enhanced: Stinger now deals bonus damage to poisoned enemies.
- Advantageous: Stinger now makes healthy enemies vulnerable and heals you when you hit vulnerable targets.
Armored Hide
- Enhanced: Armored Hide now gives you maximum resolve and increased thorns.
- Adaptable: Moving through enemies while Armored Hide is active now damages them and heals you.
Scourge
- Enhanced: Scourge now deals more damage to enemies that are already controlled.
- Reinforced: Scourge now restores your vigor over time.
Touch of Death
- Enhanced: Touch of Death now heals you more when enemies are infected, especially when swarms hatch.
- Invasive: Swarms now poison enemies over time.
The Devourer
- Harmonius: The Devourer now launches multiple poison globs when it emerges.
- Exalted: The Devourer now instantly kills non-boss enemies.
Scourge and the Devourer are the focal points of this construct. The former disperses Poison, while the latter kills foes whose health bars are completely depleted of Poison. Touch of Death is a fire-and-forget Poison nuke, while Withering Fist and Stinger are your bread-and-butter damage tools for when Scourge and the Devourer are active. For additional protection while you're out of CC, use Armored Hide.
When it comes to leveling up, the skills should be unlocked first, and then upgraded in the following order:
- Fist That Withers (2/5)
- May 5th, Stinger
- (5/5) Defile
- (1/2) Protective Cover
- Death's Touch (3/5)
- (1/2) Eater
The Key Passive should be unlocked at level 25 if you've gathered all the Altars of Lilith in Diablo 4 for the extra Skill Points. This milestone can be reached by level 35 if everything else is considered normal.
Parasite and Spirit Hall Construction
Once you've mastered your Active Skills and obtained your Key Passive, it's a good idea to level up your Passive Skills. This will help you deal damage, remain alive, and preserve Vigor, among other benefits. Passive benefits often don't have much of an effect at the beginning of the game, but they become invaluable after you have a build in place. You should expect an increase to your damage, durability, and vigor generation from these passives.
Vigor Generation and Bonuses
- Vigorous: Casting Core Skills boosts Vigor generation.
- Velocity: Moving after hitting enemies generates Vigor.
- Follow Through: Basic Skills deal more damage, especially on the third hit.
- Focal Point: Weapon type affects bonuses, doubled after casting Focus Skills.
- Apex: Vulnerable enemies take more damage, doubled against Elites.
Defense and Mitigation
- Patient Guard: Gain Block Chance and Block Damage Reduction while standing still.
- Bastion: Reflect damage (Thorns), increased with active Barriers.
- Antivenom: Resist Poison and have a higher Poison Resistance cap.
Healing and Poison
- Nourishment: Heal more, and Poison damage increases after healing.
- Ravenous: Centipede Skills deal more damage to Healthy targets.
- Oppressive: Centipede Skills deal more damage to Crowd Controlled enemies and extend their duration.
Ultimate and General Bonuses
- Resolution: Casting an Ultimate boosts Elite damage, doubled against single targets.
- Spiritual Attunement: More max Vigor with an equipped Ultimate.
- Supremacy: Killing enemies with an active Ultimate grants damage bonuses.
- Prodigy's Tempo: Casting the same Basic Skill repeatedly boosts Skill ranks and reduces cooldowns.
This build revolves around Prodigy's Tempo. Your active skills' cooldowns will be drastically reduced as long as you keep triggering the second portion of this passive. This includes The Devourer, whose cooldown begins even when the Centipede is still on the field.
Sacred Hunt is a quest that, once completed, grants access to the Spirit Hall. This is the class's unique mechanism, allowing players to select two strong passives from the four Spirit Guardians that are accessible. It is for this build that the following will be utilized:
With the Gorilla Primary Spirit, you can cast Gorilla abilities, which deal 100% of your Thorns to foes hit, and for three seconds, you'll get a Barrier equal to 5% of your maximum health (up to 30%). Every Skill is considered a Gorilla Skill.
The Centipede Spirit is a secondary ability that increases your maximum health by 1% for every nearby enemy you poisoned in the last three seconds, up to 5% all in all.
Paragon, Runes, Legendary Aspects, and Gear for the Spiritborn Centipede
You won't need to worry too much about gear at the start of Diablo 4, but after you begin to get Legendary Aspects typically around level 30 you'll want to select the best ones that complement this build. For this configuration, the most crucial factors are:
- Dangerous (Utility): For five to nine seconds, Scourge affects all foes in your immediate vicinity.
- Inevitable Fate (Offensive): An enemy will take 7 seconds of explosive damage every time their health drops below 35% while they are under your damage-over-time effects.
- The tormentor's enemies will take damage equal to half to two-and-a-half times your Thorns damage per second if they move while poisoned.
- With each adversary you Crowd Control, you'll gain a primary resource equal to one to eight, thanks to Umbral.
In terms of item statistics, keep an eye out for:
- Damage
- Long-Term Injury
- Decrease in Resource Expenses
- Decrease in Cooldown Time
- Speed of Movement
- Principal barriers (Life, Armor, and Resistances)
Distinct Choices for Items
Even though there are a lot of strategies to farm Uniques in Diablo 4, players are still dependent on random number generation. Feel free to use any of the following Uniques in your build if you happen to obtain any of them:
- Mother's Embrace (Ring): You will receive a refund for the Primary Resource cost if your Core Skill reaches 4 or more enemis.
- Wound Drinker (Ring): Gain 1–7 Vigor for every Thorns damage dealt. Wearing this ring will grant you Toxic Skin's Passive ability.
- Gain 1–7 Vigor for every kill, and your maximum Vigor is increased by 50% with the Ring of the Midday Hunt (Ring). You deal 33% more Poisoning damage over the standard duration while you're equipped with Ferocity.
- Wound Drinker is a top-tier Unique item that, when paired with Tormentor's Aspect and Scourge, effectively grants you limitless Vigor while mobbing.
Optional Runes
Runes are back in Diablo 4, and with all the possible combos, it can be difficult to choose which ones are ideal for the Spiritborn Centipede build. This build is great for testing out the following runewords:
- For every non-Chill or non-Slow Crowd Control effect you cast, NocTal grants you 10 Offering. A Pestilent Swarm can be summoned for 100 Offering.
- After going 5 meters, you will gain 50 Offering in BacQue. To summon the Druid's Earthen Bulwark, spend 300 Offering.
Paragon
The endgame begins with paragon farming, and your build might not change as you acquire additional Paragon Boards and Glyphs online. To begin, it is advised to maximize damage dealt on the first board in order to initiate the drive for Torment difficulty. If you're dying too often, you can adjust for additional survivability if needed.
Pick one of these options for glyphs:
- Fester: Centipede Skills deal more damage.
- Attacking an enemy causes them to be vulnerable for three seconds (20 seconds cooldown for each enemy). Targets that are vulnerable will take more damage.
- Get Enhanced Turf Damage Reduction
So we come to the end of this explanatory guide, now you know about Spiritborn Centipede Leveling Build in Diablo 4, just do it and enjoy it to the fullest.
