We have made a detailed guide where we explain everything related to How to summon Grigoire in Diablo 4.

Grigoire, the Galvanic Saint, is both an endgame behemoth and one of Diablo 4's most fearsome enemies. Grigoire can be summoned only with very specific resources that are difficult to get. The fight with him is dangerous and requires skill and preparation. Though a challenge himself, Grigoire is merely a stepping stone towards greater dangers. He must be defeated for the necessary parts to summon another powerful boss, Duriel, and to obtain really valuable loot. Grigoire isn't just a boss whom a player can kill; he is an endgame progression encounter, a challenging encounter to test the might and determination of a player.
Can you take on the mighty Grigoire? Your quest begins in Hall of the Penitent, a dangerous dungeon nestled within the dry expanse of the Dry Steppes—a subterranean labyrinth strategically positioned to the south of the bustling city of Ked Bardu and to the east of the imposing Onyx Watchtower. Before you proceed into this dangerous domain, it's of prime importance that you first gather the specific materials required for summoning the menacing Grigoire. These shall attract the monstrous creature from darkness and non-existence into reality.

How to Summon Grigoire in Diablo 4?

In Diablo 4, players can summon Grigoire, the Galvanic Saint, who happens to be a very challenging adversary if they complete a particular ritual for him. This ritual requires the player to place Living Steel—this is an extremely rare resource—at the Light-Touched altar. The amount of Living Steel that has to be placed on the altar differs according to the level of difficulty by which one wants to summon Grigoire. For World Tier Three, a player will only need two pieces of Living Steel; in return for the challenge at World Tier Four, however, five are demanded.

A much greater challenge lies within the tormented form of Grigoire, summoned by large tribute of 15 Living Steel and the coveted Stygian Stone. This rare stone is obtained from the deadly pit area, where only the most courageous adventurers dare to venture into.

Acquiring Living Steel will require patience and perseverance. While it could be acquired from elite enemies, Hellbornes, Blood Maidens, and random world events as a drop, Helltide events are known to be the most efficient for this purpose. Tortured Gift of Living Steel chests can be found in these mad times and opened by players for a price of 275 Aberrant Cinders.

The Lightning Lord

Grigoire will be one of the more challenging endgame foes in Diablo 4. He is primarily an attacker with lightning. You'll have to fight strategically if you want to win. You can increase your chances of doing so by consuming an Elixir of Lightning Resistance and equipping a Topaz or Diamond gem to boost your elemental resistance—this will dramatically improve your survivability.
One of Grigoire's most dangerous tactics is his lightning grid. In the first phase of the fight, damaging bolts will start to electrocute the arena at random. While that does indeed sound very intensive, it can actually give rise to some very aggressive play. The safe zones have a rather easy-to-spot color difference and grant you some time to rest from the electrical onslaught. You can then use these safe havens for positioning and have a field day unleashing devastating attacks on immobile Grigoire.

Aside from the lightning grid, Grigoire has a couple of other simple, easy melee attacks. Although weaker than his electric attacks, these blows can be dangerous if evaded improperly. The use of a circling motion that keeps him in front of you will mostly eliminate this danger. This will then allow for an effective dance of avoiding his blows and setting up opportunities for counterattacks that require patience and timing.

While he isn't the most mechanically intensive boss, Grigoire and all his lightning-infused arsenal aren't really forgiving either. If you rush into battle without some strategic approach, you will lose. Using some knowledge of his attack patterns, the environment to your advantage, and just being on the side of caution can see you through this fight with Grigoire, whittling down his defenses bit by bit.

Keep in mind that beating Grigoire will always require a mix of skill, preparation, and adaptability. Following these guidelines and sharpening your combat skills will most definitely help you defeat this fearsome foe and collect your well-deserved rewards.

Grigoire and Shards of Agony in Diablo 4

Defeating Grigoire, a World Tier Four boss, nets the player the unique Shard of Agony, one of the most critical pieces to summon the endgame boss, Duriel. The summoning of Duriel requires the player to collect two Shards of Agony and two Mucus-Slick Eggs. These are received upon killing the Echo of Varshan, yet another endgame boss.

Grigori is likely the one you most associate with the Shard of Agony, but he also has a chance to drop very top-end loot. In specific, he has a couple of uniques: Path of Trag'Oul—the boots for the Necromancer—and Axial Conduit, which acts as the pants for the Sorcerer. He also drops Flameweaver, which is the gloves for the Sorcerer. Other notable pieces of loot are Greaves of the Empty Tomb, the Necromancer's pants; Mjolnic Ryng for the Druid; Rage of Harrogath for Barbarian chest armor; Ramaladni's Magnum Opus, a weapon for the Barbarian; and Shroud of Khanduras for the Rogue.
