Although it will really work as a one-way system, in which console players can exclude PC players from their games, but PC players will not be able to prevent console players from joining their party.
Considering how complex it would be to implement cross-play, the developers have set up a workaround, whereby all Destiny 2 players can come across the Bungie naming system.
The system works as follows, each player will receive a Bungie name, which is their current display name with 4 numbers attached to the end. What the system does is filter out offensive names, but the name can be changed from the Bungie website.
In case you don't know your current name of, you can find it in the "Director" menu> "List" tab.
If you want to facilitate the process, you will have to synchronize your account with Bungie.net, using your email or accounts from platforms such as Steam or a PS Plus account.
If everyone knows their individual Bungie names and their accounts have already been synced with Bungie.net, they will be able to add friends across all platforms.
To do this, you can use cross saves and free play status. To do this, you will have to log into your account from whatever platform your friend is on> then send the friend request there.
