How to Get Lotus-Eater in Destiny 2 and It’s God Roll

The Lotus-Eater is a formidable Void Rocket Sidearm in Destiny 2, especially valuable after recent buffs to Void-focused perks. This guide will detail how to obtain this weapon and outline its ideal PvE "God Roll" for maximizing your damage, survivability, and overall performance in challenging endgame activities.

Destiny 2 and It’s God Roll: How to Get Lotus-Eater

The Lotus-Eater is a Nightfall-exclusive weapon. This means you can only acquire it during specific weeks when it is featured in the weekly Nightfall loot pool.

• Weekly Nightfall Rotation: The Nightfall weapon changes every Tuesday at the weekly reset. You'll need to keep an eye on the weekly reset information or in-game at Commander Zavala's vendor screen to see if Lotus-Eater is the featured weapon.
  • Based on current information, Lotus-Eater was the featured Nightfall weapon the week of July 1, 2025. This means it's currently available as of Wednesday, July 9, 2025.
• Completing Nightfall Strikes: To get the base version of Lotus-Eater, you must complete Nightfall strikes on any difficulty and open the final chest. Higher difficulties (Expert, Master, Grandmaster) generally have better drop rates for the weapon.
  • Platinum Completion: For the best drop chances on any difficulty, ensure you achieve "Platinum" completion by defeating every Champion in the strike.
• Adept Version (Grandmaster Nightfall): For the enhanced Adept version of Lotus-Eater, you must complete the Grandmaster Nightfall difficulty when Lotus-Eater is the featured weapon. Achieving Platinum completion in a Grandmaster Nightfall guarantees an Adept weapon drop.
• Focusing at Zavala (After First Drop): Once you've had at least one Lotus-Eater drop (either standard or Adept), you unlock the ability to "Focus Decode" for more rolls at Commander Zavala in the Tower.
  • Standard Lotus-Eater Focusing: If Lotus-Eater is the featured weekly weapon, you can focus it for:
    • 1 Vanguard Engram
    • 25,000 Glimmer
  • Adept Lotus-Eater Focusing: If it's the featured Adept weapon from a Grandmaster, you can focus more Adept versions for:
    • 1 Vanguard Engram
    • 50,000 Glimmer
    • 10 Nightfall Ciphers (Adept Ciphers are acquired from Grandmaster Nightfalls)
  • Legacy Nightfall Weapon Focusing: If Lotus-Eater is not the featured weapon for the week, but you've acquired it before, you can still focus it from Zavala's "Legacy Nightfall Weapons" section for:
    • 5 Vanguard Engrams
    • 25,000 Glimmer

PvE God Roll for Lotus-Eater

The strength of the Lotus-Eater in PvE lies in its synergy with Void 3.0verbs, offering a powerful loop of overshields, explosive damage, andcrowd control.

• Barrel: Quick Launch (Greatly increases projectile speed and improves handling speed, making the rockets hit targets faster and the weapon feel more responsive.)
• Magazine: Extended Mag (Increases magazine size, allowing for more shots before reloading,which is crucial for maximizing the uptime of its powerful perks.)
• Weapon Mod: Backup Mag (Further increases magazine capacity, synergizing perfectly with Extended Mag for maximum rocket count per reload.)
• Perk 1: Repulsor Brace (This is a cornerstone perk. When you defeat an enemy affected by aVoid debuff (such as Suppress, Weaken, or Volatile), it grants you a 45 HP overshield for 6 seconds. This significantly boosts your survivability in dense combat encounters.)
• Perk 2: Destabilizing Rounds (This perk truly makes the weapon shine. Defeating an enemy causes them to trigger a Void burst, making nearby enemies Volatile. Additionally, gaining a Void overshield (like from Repulsor Brace) grants you Volatile Rounds for 10 seconds. This causes your Void weapons to apply Volatile with every shot, leading to continuous explosions.)

How it Works:

This "God Roll" creates an incredibly potent feedback loop:

You defeat an enemy with Lotus-Eater.

Destabilizing Rounds triggers a Void burst, making nearby enemies Volatile.

If the enemy you defeated was already Volatile (or any other Void debuff), Repulsor Brace grants you an overshield.

Gaining the overshield from Repulsor Brace activates Volatile Rounds on your Void weapons.

Now, every shot from Lotus-Eater (or any other Void weapon you swap to)makes enemies Volatile, setting up more explosions and potentialovershield triggers.

This combination of perks provides constant overshields for survivability,explosive Void effects for rapid crowd control, and sustained VolatileRounds for high damage output. It makes the Lotus-Eater an exceptionalchoice for any Void build in Destiny 2's challenging PvE content.
