To get a weapon in Death Stranding despite being one of the first things you will want to do in the game, is not exactly one of the main things, or at least as long as you can get peace with the terrorists, however, these are not always willing and ready for a negotiation and for this will be at your disposal a large arsenal of weapons.

Your first weapon in the game is a grenade and it will be up to the second map in Episode 3: Fragile when you get the blueprints to create your first weapon as such. When you get to Lake Knot City you'll be close to getting the Gun Ball but first you'll have to do a couple of things.

In this first installment you will have to visit the engineer, the old man and the craftsman. The latter will give you the plan of the Gun Lv. 1 Ball. The craftsman will act quite shy and really won't want anything to do with you.

Before the craftsman gives you the plan you will have to complete a mission for this one in which you will have to go to the crater of Middle Knot City to recover the tools of the old craftsman. Once you complete this mission you will receive the map as a reward.
