How To Unlock The Time-Lock Safe In Blue Prince: A Step-by-Step Walkthrough

Step One: Unlock The West Gate To Access The Outer Room:

• The West Gate is located to the west of the Estate. As you exit the main Entrance and head outside, turn to your right, and you will find it.
• To unlock this gate, you first need to restore power to the Garage Door in the Garage. This requires a Breaker Box.
• The Garage is a draftable room located on the far left side of the Estate, also known as the Western Perimeter. You will need to draft the Garage to proceed.

Step Two: Draft The Shelter:

• Once the West Gate is unlocked, you will gain access to a new area where you can draft unique Outer Rooms. The Shelter is one of these draftable options.
• Continue drafting Outer Rooms until the Shelter becomes available and build it.
• Upon entering the Shelter, walk down the stairs. You will find the Time-Lock Safe situated on a shelf next to a Terminal.
• Crucially, you do not need to interact with or log into the Terminal to access the controls for the Time-Lock Safe.
• Troubleshooting: If the Shelter does not appear as a draftable option, you can restartthe current day by quitting out of the game and reloading. Head back tothe Outer Room drafting area for another chance to draw the Shelter from the available pool of rooms.

Step Three: Enter A Time One Hour From The Current Time & Date:

• To successfully open the Time-Lock Safe, you must input a time that is at least one hour in the future from the game's current internal time and date within the 'Time Lock Safe' menu.
• Determining the Current Time and Date: The game's current date and time are not displayed on the main menu or through any in-game calendar or interface. You will need to deduce this information through observation and potentiallyother clues within the game world (though this guide focuses on the core mechanic).
• Setting the Time: The Time-Lock Safe only allows you to set the time in one-hour increments. Therefore, even if the current time is just one minute past a wholehour, you will need to add a full hour and round up to the next hour todetermine the correct time to set on the safe. For example, if youdetermine the current time is 10:05 AM on a specific date, you wouldneed to set the safe to 11:00 AM on that same date.

Step Four: Wait Until The Set Time To Open The Time-Lock Safe:

• Once you have correctly set a future time on the Time-Lock Safe, you have two options:
  • Wait in the Shelter: You can remain in the Shelter and wait for the in-game clock to reach the time you have set.
  • Explore and Return: Alternatively, you can leave the Shelter and continue exploring the Mt. Holly Estate.
• In-Game Time Progression: Be aware that in Blue Prince, approximately five real-world minutes equate to one in-game hour passing. Therefore, if you set the safe to open one hour in the future, you will need to wait around five real-world minutes. If you set it for two hours in the future, you'll need to wait about ten real-worldminutes, and so on.
• Safe's Open Duration: Once the Time-Lock Safe opens, it will remain unlocked for a period of four in-game hours. If you choose to explore the manor, keep track of the in-game time byreferencing any clocks you encounter within the Estate to ensure youhave enough time to return to the Shelter before the safe closes again.

Blue Prince Time Lock Safe Rewards:

Successfully unlocking the Time-Lock Safe in the Shelter will reward you with two valuable items:

• A Gem: This is likely a valuable resource or item within the game.
• A Red Letter: This particular letter is marked with the number VII. These Red Letters are scattered throughout the Estate and are crucialfor solving a specific puzzle related to your search for Room 46.

While you cannot physically collect the Red Letter VII, it imparts important story details that shed light on the mysteries surrounding the Mt. Holly Estate. It is highly recommended that you write down the location where you found this Red Letter (the Time-Lock Safein the Shelter), its associated number (VII), and any significantinformation contained within the note.
