In this guide entry we explain How to Get the Durendal Sword in Black Ops 6.

Delve into the depths of an ancient castle overrun with the undead in Black Ops 6's Citadelle des Morts map, and find out how to complete the Easter Egg.

How to Get the Durendal Sword in Black Ops 6?

To make Durendal the ultimate weapon it can be, follow a series of steps that mainly involve finding specific items placed across the map. Continue reading to find out all the steps necessary for acquiring Durendal, the Electric Sword, in Black Ops 6 Zombies – Citadelle des Morts.

Step 1: Acquire the Stag Bastard Sword

Players will be able to get the Stag Bastard Sword at Round 10. To do so, they have to acquire a Stamp that only Templar zombies drop, which spawn randomly. To continue, take this stamp to the Dining Hall, where Vulture Aid is located. Inside, players will want to interact with a statue in the closet left of the door leading to the Entrance Hall. This statue has a stag proudly on the knight's chest and is placed beside some wooden boxes. Interacting with the statue with a Stamp will reward you with the Stag Bastard Sword.

Step 2: Find All 3 Locations of the Lightning Rod

With the Stag Bastard Sword in your possession, it's time to find the locations of the 3 Lightning Rods. Here's how you get each one:

  • Head to the first Lightning Rod, which is in the Dungeon and near Quick Revive. Stay here for a while until a zombie with a Lightning Rod in its chest comes out. The zombie must be killed by players so that it drops it and becomes available for them to pick up into their inventory.
  • The second Lightning Rod is in a set location, always in the same position. Find the Lightning Rod in the Nature Path area, which is conveniently placed near the horse stable that Deadshot Daiquiri calls home. When you are facing Deadshot Daiquiri, look to the left and find a pile of boxes with the Lightning Rod sitting on top, waiting for you to find it.

To activate the third Lightning Rod, players will need to obtain either Dead Wire for 500 Salvage from The Arsenal or a Shock Charge for 500 Salvage at the Crafting Bench at Level 42. Head to the Upper Village area, which is pretty close to Speed Cola. With your back to Speed Cola, facing the East wall, there's an electric panel near a lamp on the wall. With a gun equipped with Dead Wire, all players have to do to power this panel is shoot into it, which will then release the third and final Lightning Rod.

Step 3: Charging the Urn on the Ramparts

Upon procuring 3 Lightning Rods, head up from the Courtyard through the stairs right up to Elemental Pop in order to gain access to Hillside Ramparts. Upon reaching the summit, direct your gaze towards the West wall to discover an urn. Players have the opportunity to engage with the urn, allowing them to insert all three Lightning Rods. This action triggers the emergence of purple-eyed zombies and unleashes a storm over the Ramparts area.

Players should equip their Stag Bastard Sword and either wait out the zombies, or take them out, for a bolt of lightning to strike the sword. Then head to the urn and attack it with the electrified sword, which will be striking blue. Players need to do this three times. To do this, players can train around the zombies in the Ramparts by the urn and watch for an electrified sword.

Step 4: Interact with the Urn to Obtain Durendal

After hitting the urn with an electrified sword three times, players can interact with the urn to present it with their sword. This will upgrade the Stag Bastard sword into its upgraded form: Durendal. Once the animation of the sword filling up with lightning has ended, players can interact with the urn once more to take Durendal as their reward, as well as an upgraded Sword in Citadelle des Morts.

Of course, should players ever feel they no longer wish to wield the sword, they can easily head into the Dining Hall and interact with the Stag Knight statue to drop the sword into waiting hands in exchange for their previously dedicated melee weapon.

Is the Durendal Electric Sword Worth It?

Durendal stands out as a respectable sword, boasting a captivating effect with its Special Attack that unleashes a chain lightning strike reminiscent of the Wunderwaffe DG-2. However, it falls short in power compared to the other Special Attacks from the 4 Swords. When Durendal is charged, players experience effects akin to the Deadwire Ammo Mod. However, this does not make up for the mediocre effect of the Special Attack, which has needed a buff since day one, especially since it just grazes the Amalgams.
