Steps to Obtain the Prototype Gun in Battlefield 2042

The Prototype Gun is a rare automatic rifle featuring a thermal vision scope and a burst-fire mode. Its unlock requirements are part of a new, community-driven "Phantom Program"-style Easter egg hunt. The path to acquiring it is highly specific and requires completing a series of tasks.

Step 1: Collect a Secret Keycard

The first step requires you to get a secret keycard on the Battle of the Bulge map. To do this, you must create a Portal server with the map set to nighttime.

• After spawning, go to the D1 objective and find the two angel statues.
• Shoot the wings of the angel statue on the right and the head of the angel on the left.
• Throw a dynamite at the angel on the right and detonate it.
• Next, travel to the graveyard just before the E1 objective.
• Shoot off the head of the angel statue located at the center of the graveyard, which is encircled by a ring of fire.
• Approach the now-headless statue and hold the interact button to collect the keycard.

Step 2: Unlock and Equip a Phantom Skin

You must have a Phantom skin equipped to survive a laser trap later in the quest. If you do not have a Phantom skin, you will be instantly killed upon entering the laser room.

Step 3: Enter Codes on a Secret Keypad

The next part of the quest takes you to the Iwo Jima map. The secret keypad is located beneath the C1 objective, next to alarge door and a set of stairs. You will need to enter a series of fourspecific codes into the keypad in this order:

• 250146
• 613251
• 515176
• 441806

Step 4: Locate the Prototype Gun in the Secret Room

Once the codes are entered, a door near the A1 objective will open. Gothrough the red tunnel and climb the rope until you reach a door marked"47." Proceed through this door if the codes were entered correctly.

To find the weapon, follow these final steps:

• Enter the elevator and immediately go prone on the floor.
• Once you reach the lower level, turn left.
• Use the keycard you collected earlier to open the next door.
• Carefully proceed through the laser room. This is where your Phantom skin is required to survive the laser grid.
• Open the door at the far end of the laser room.
• Inside the next room, you will find the Prototype Gun enclosed in a glass case.
• Break the glass case to pick up the weapon.

Battlefield 2042 is available on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One.
