Playing solo in Abyssus is simple. When you launch a new expedition without inviting any friends, the game automatically adjusts enemy numbers and aggression to match your party size of one. This means you will not be facing the same overwhelming swarms of enemies that you would in a four-player session.This scaling makes the game very accessible for new players who are still learning the mechanics, as it allows for more controlled encounters and a greater focus on individual skill.

Tips for Solo Survival

Like any roguelite, success in Abyssus is a combination of mastering the game's core mechanics and using its meta-progression to your advantage.

1. Master Movement

In Abyssus, your greatest asset is your mobility. Your character has a highly agile base kit that includes a double-jump and a directional dash that can be used both on the ground and in the air. Enemies hit hard, but theirattacks are typically well-telegraphed and can be avoided if you areconstantly in motion.

• Circle Strafe and Weave: Continuously move to avoid getting hit. Staying still, even for a moment, is the quickest way to get overwhelmed.
• Utilize the Environment: The arenas are not just empty spaces. Use cover to break enemy line ofsight, and use high ground to get a better vantage point on thebattlefield.
• Prioritize Threats: Learn to identify and eliminate the most dangerous enemies first. For example, focus ontaking out a summoner that is spawning enemies rather than the gruntsthemselves, as the grunts will die when the summoner is defeated.

• Healing: Save your healing syringes for critical moments, such as against elites and bosses. Scour the room after a fight for any dropped healing itemsbefore you use one of your own.
• Gold and Upgrades: Every coin matters. Sweep rooms for gold before moving on to the next.Use your gold to purchase permanent upgrades, especially those thatboost your survivability, such as Max Health and Syringe improvements.
