Players are going to want to summon her to enhance several teams' combative capabilities. The Attack and Anomaly characters will benefit greatly with Astra Yao on their team.

Astra Yao Kit and Abilities in Zenless Zone Zero



First, to make better use of Astra Yao, a player needs to understand how her kit works in Zenless Zone Zero. Below are key things to focus on:

Basic Strike



  • When the Basic Attack is activated, Astra Yao will cast three attacks that can deal Ether DMG.
  • She has access to the state of Idyllic Cadenza and deal a skill called Tremolo by a simple tap of Basic ATK
  • Quick Assist is activated when Tremolo strikes an enemy you'll be allowed to call forth an ally into the fray, tap and hold Basic Attack when she has amassed enough Energy in order to cast it, smoothly transitioning into a Tremolo followed by a Tone Cluster.

Special attack



  •  Ultimate Strike Astra Yao initiates her special attack, striking with the mysterious power of -Tremolo that then renews her into an Idyllic Cadenza state.
  • Hold Special Attack to lure in the enemy, follow it with a string of Tremolos.
  • In the peaceful Cadenza state, Astra Yao does not move. Her Dodge and Basic Attack are still useable. Hold down Basic Attack to leave this stance.
  • Can enhance the squad member's DMG and CRIT DMG output.
  • For every 25 Energy, Astra Yao earns one Chord. The passive causes a Quick Assist to occur any time an active character strikes a target or anytime an ally uses their charged attack to attack.


Ultimate




When Ultimate is activated, Astra Yao starts channeling energy through an entrancing song, releasing a powerful blast that deals Ether DMG. Restores health points to all squad members. Her ability puts her into the Idyllic Cadenza state.


Essentially Passive



The Attack and Astra Yao are increased when any of the following conditions are met during the Idyllic Cadenza state:


  • When squad members transition in via Quick Assist, Chain Attack, Defensive Assist, or Evasive Assist.
  • Astra Yao channels Energy to unleash Tremolo.


How to play Astra Yao in Zenless Zone Zero?



Here are some general tips to keep in mind while playing Astra optimally in ZZZ:

  • One of the overlooked traits of Astra Yao is that she can trigger quite a lot of Quick Assist. You would want to set her up accordingly for how many buffs you want to provide to the squad.
  • Start the battle by holding her Special Skill, immediately turning on Idyllic Cadenza state.
  • Perform a Normal Attack to play a Tremolo, which will trigger the Quick Assist. All teammates who enter the battlefield with the corresponding method will have their ATK increased, as well as their DMG and CRIT DMG.
  • After triggering a Quick Assist, immediately press the Assist button again to trigger a Precise Assist, and Astra Yao will answer with Tone Clusters.
  • She will charge her Energy over the course of her Idyllic Cadenza state and transform it into Chord, represented by the star icons that glow underneath her health bar.
  • Activate the active character to hit an enemy to activate extra Precise Assists while using the Chords in the process.
  • Use Quick Assist as much as possible to fully utilize her Attack buffs.
  • Astra Yao remains on the field during her special state to keep her buffs up.
