The first thing you have to know is to use this tool you will have to unlock the fast travel points of the map. So you will have to go through the map little by little to unlock them all and have more travel points to go quickly when necessary.

To return to the city what you have to do is press the T key to execute a short spell that will take you back to the city, you will open a portal on the city reference point and, when you click on it, you will return to the previous point
