How to free Mythical deer in Where Winds Meet
Prerequisites: Starting the Lost Cause Prayers Quest
Before you can free the deer, you must officially begin the associated quest, “Gleaming Abyss.” To activate it, travel to the Twinbeast Ridge area and complete two initial tasks:Step 1: Planting the Longevity Fruit Seed
Your first tangible task involves a special seed. Return to the area near Lu Sheng at Tiger Fort. Directly in front of him, you’ll notice a small, interactable dirt mound.- Approach the mound and interact with it.
- Select the Longevity Fruit Seed from your inventory to plant it.
Important: The seed will not sprout immediately. It requires the completion of alater ritual before it grows, so don’t be alarmed if nothing happensyet.
Step 2: Gathering the Ritual Offerings – Two Longevity Fruits
The core ritual demands two Longevity Fruits as offerings. These are found in separate, distinct locations:
- The first fruit is hidden within the eerie Wraith Village.
- The second fruit is located in the vicinity of the Gleaming Abyss.
Collect both fruits before proceeding. Having them in your inventory is essential for the next phase.
Step 3: Performing the Midnight Offering at the Twin Shrines
Timing is critical. This ritual can only be performed after midnight in the game’s day/night cycle. Use the time-skip feature if necessary.
You must find two shrine sites, each marked by a fire pit beside a large boulder.
- First Shrine Location: Travel to the southwestern shores of Twinbeast Ridge, moving southwest from Tiger Fort until you reach the coastline. Find the fire pit and offer your first Longevity Fruit.
- Second Shrine Location: From the first shrine, head northeast. You will discover a second, similar fire pit setup. Interact and offer your second Longevity Fruit here.
Once both offerings are made, the fruits will be consumed, signifying the ritual's acceptance.
Step 4: Witnessing the Growth of the Longevity Fruit Tree
Return to the dirt mound near Lu Sheng and Tiger Fort. Your previously planted seed will have miraculously grown into a full Longevity Fruit Tree.
A passerby will be standing under it. Speaking to them adds narrativeflavor—they may dismiss the legend of the deer—but this interactionconfirms your progress.
Step 5: Claiming Your Reward and Confirming Success
Finally, journey back to the location west of Tiger Fort where you first saw the captive Mythical Deer.
- The deer itself will be gone.
- Approach and investigate the now-empty vines that once bound it.
This action confirms the quest’s completion. The Mythical Deer has beensuccessfully freed by your actions. There is no grand cutscene; thequiet disappearance and the investigable vines are your proof ofsuccess. You have now completed this subtle, rewarding piece of Where Winds Meet’s rich world.
