Discover How to Customize Your Character and loadout in Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2 with our detailed guide today.
Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 gives you an unprecedented amount of character customization, almost to the point where you can make your Marine and his build look however you want. The interesting thing with this is that it's not just an aesthetic choice; many of those choices have actual ramifications in terms of how your Marine will behave in combat and overall effectiveness.
While customization options are not right there to begin with, they do gradually unlock throughout the campaign. This way, you will be able to have a good foundation in the gameplay before you will be able to dive into the deeps of creating your character.
How to Customize Your Character and Loadout in Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2?
To begin customizing your character in Space Marine 2, you will have to complete the tutorial mission that takes you to the Battle Barge, where most of your base operations will be. Playing as Titus, the protagonist of the campaign, go through the initial set of dialogues and cutscenes that will usher you into the story. By the end of these initial introductions, you are finally free to roam around the Battle Barge.
Your personalization options will revolve around the Armouring Hall, a location within the Battle Barge. In this hall, you'll be able to change the appearance and equipment settings on your character. What can be customized will depend on which Space Marine you're playing.
For instance, in the case of a Devastator, you will have more heavy armaments and upgrades in armor, while for an Assault Marine, you will be able to choose from skills that will make them agile, able to conduct close combat efficiently, and with more stealth-oriented equipment.
Keep in mind that customization is tailored to allow you to personalize your character in both look and playstyle to suit your preference and fit the needs and difficulties of the campaign.
Switching and Customizing Loadouts
Go to the Launch Bay to switch and customize your loadouts for game modes in Space Marine 2. Select Operations-PvE, Campaign, or Eternal War-PvP. Depending on which one is chosen, it will automatically equip onto the character the appropriate loadout. For new players, it will default to a basic blue marine.
Access the Armouring Hall in order to customize your loadouts. Now, with a terminal, you will be able to edit the weapons and cosmetics of all six classes. You will be able to configure your Perk Tree according to your playstyle in Operations.
Note that cosmetics and some loadout weapons will be locked from the outset and need either credits or leveling up in said mode. It wouldn't hurt to have a bit of experience and some currency earned in each mode before diving deep into heavy customization.
For instance, you might be the kind of player who goes with close-quarters combat in Operations, spending your time in melee weapons and abilities. In Eternal War, a more ranged-focused approach might work wonders. By understanding what's uniquely challenging and rewarding about each mode, you'll be able to create loadouts that cater specifically to maximizing your performance and enjoyment.
