Class Selection in Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2


Explain how to choose and select a different class in Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2.

Initial Class Selection


  • 1. Complete the Tutorial: Finish the first, tutorial mission in the game.
  • 2. Battle Barge Access: The first time you access the Battle Barge, you will be notified by "Online play is available now."
  • 3. Strategium or Launch Bay: Enter the Strategium (campaign mode) or the Launch Bay (online mode).
  • 4. Console Interaction: Turn on the console in either of these two rooms to open the Battle Map.
  • 5. Mode Selection: Choose a mode either Operations or Eternal War through the interface of Battle Map. A confirmation message will pop up. Confirm by choosing "Yes" to enable the mode change.
  • 6. Class Selection: After confirmation, a list of available classes will pop up for your selection. You will select the class of your choice among the classes displayed.

Important Notes:


  • Class Selection: Classes available will be determined by when you join a lobby in progress. Other players may have selected some classes already.
  • Flexibility within a Class: Choosing a class here does not necessarily nail you to a particular class. 

Changing Class Later On In Game


  • 1. Armouring Hall Access: Head to the Armouring Hall, accessible for fast travel in-world prior to mission selection or right before embarking on a mission.
  • 2. Class Customization: In Armouring Hall, where one customizes the look and loadout of their Space Marine, the last class chosen will be equipped on that mission.
  • 3. Keep the Chosen Class Selected: Because you want to play the class that you have chosen and customized in the Armouring Hall, make sure not to select another class here or you will play that class once you exit this menu.
