How to Build an Orbital Ring in Stellaris

Orbital Rings are enormous and powerful Megastructures in the world of Stellaris. They are encircling structures that span an entire planet, and they allow players to control the environment and resources beneath them. Orbital Rings are powered by a variety of rare and advanced technologies, including Starhold, Ceramo-Metal Infrastructure, and Galactic Administration.

Building an Orbital Ring Megastructure in Stellaris requires a few steps. Firstly, players must research the necessary techs: Starhold, Ceramo-Metal Infrastructure, and Galactic Administration. With these technologies unlocked, players can then select a Construction Ship and right-click on the desired planet to build a Tier 1 Orbital Ring. This initial Ring requires 1000 Alloys and 50 Influence. For further upgrades, Tier 2 and Tier 3 Rings require the Star Fortress and Citadel techs, respectively, as well as a Tier 2 or 3 Capital building on the planet. Although Orbital Rings cost less than most, players should be mindful in selecting their first planet for the Megastructure due to these requirements.
