  • First, you should restart your internet connection. This will make sure that your connection to Steam is stable.
  • Then, you should clear Steam download cache. To do that, open Steam, click the Steam menu (top-left corner of the window), and select “Settings”. Then, click “Downloads”, and click the “Clear Download Cache” button.
  • Third, you should set Steam to High Priority in Task Manager. To do that, press Ctrl+Shift+Esc to open Task Manager. Then, select the “Processes” tab, right-click Steam, and select “Set Priority”. Select “High” from the drop-down menu.
  • Fourth, you should set bandwidth to no limit. To do that, go to Steam, click the Steam menu and select “Settings”. Then, click “Downloads”, and set the “Limit Bandwidth” to “No Limit”.
  • Fifth, you should change the download server location. To do that, open Steam, click the Steam menu and select “Settings”. Then, click “Downloads”, and select a download server location that’s closer to you.
  • Sixth, you should update network drivers. To do that, press Windows Key+X and select “Device Manager”. Then, right-click your network adapters and select “Update driver”.
  • Seventh, you should disable Antivirus software. This is important because some antivirus programs can interfere with Steam and cause slow downloads.
  • Finally, if none of the above steps worked, you should try re-installing Steam. To do that, press Windows Key+R, type “appwiz.cpl” and press Enter. Then, select Steam, click “Uninstall” and follow the instructions on the screen.
